I am searching for a digital camera, and I was wondering if you guys could post what kind of camera you have, how much it cost, and how good you rate it. Appreciate it.

There was a thread a little bit ago about cameras, so try searching real quick.
Besides that, there is a website that rates cameras and shows different pictures taken by them. I just don't know the site so hopefully someone will post it.
My Camera is a Sony Cybershot 6.0 megapixel and I have a 1gb card for it. Very nice Overall camera, but does not do as well for macros as I wish it would. I'd still recommend it.
Nikon cool cool pix L3 5.1megapix with macro from walmart 175 when i baught it you can get it now for under 150 2gig card about 75 bucks mini tripod 15 bucks , still figuring out how to use it , look at the lilly in my gallery there 2 of it .will show what macro does. ahh i'll post em , and takes videos also.
if you want a really nice camera, i would def. go with a SLR
A nice good priced digital SLR is a cannon digital rebel XT, prob spend about 6-700, but its a nice camera
ive got a 5 mp Kodak, tried to take some up-close shots of the buddage ive been toking, unfortuantlly the pictures looked blury on the camera monitor so i didn't try to get my girl to upload them, (i'm very inexperienced with camera's & computers) but i'm slooowly learning. Thanks
As far as I can make out your bggest choice is whether you want to splash out on a DSLR a digital one with the changable lenses (which all cost money) or a point and shoot all in one. I have the latter, a sony dsc something only 2 MP so not great these days, but so simple and on ebay probably about $40. From there they just get better. Just try to find something that specifically has a macro option, mine doesn't and that's its biggest draw back.
When I started out with my digital cameras, I had a Concord EyeQ Go. It didn't have a memory card slot, took very shitty, grainy pictures, and only held 60 pictures. Essentially, it was a cheap peice of shit. But what can you expect for under $50?
My second one was a Kodak EasyShare CX6330. Decent camera, didn't do macros, but it had a decent zoom, and recorded video. Actually, I really liked that camera, but alas, it broke nearly a year ago. I kept hearing about how Kodak wasn't worth a shit and to expect the camera to break down within a few years. And it did. It was a Christmas gift several years ago from my dad, and probably cost around $250 when he bought it.
Now I have a Polaroid A500 that my mom gave me this past Christmas. Might have run her around $150 tops (not including her employee discount) It's not a bad little camera, but it's not as "fancy" as my old Kodak was. But, it takes a great clear picture, better shutter speed than my Kodak (or at least it seems so) Meets my requirements for being able to take a clear picture, and record video. Although, the only thing I'm not happy with is the flash---WAY to frickin' bright, tends to have a "wash-out" effect.
I've had my eye on a couple of cameras for a while, one being a Sony, I believe for over $1,000, but the mega bonus for that one was the nightvision setting Fucking awesome toy that one is, hehehe. But I do prefer Canons, I've had a couple of Canon 35mms, and just loved them. I'd love to upgrade to a top of the line Canon someday, but damn, I hope I can find one with nightvision
After reading everything i could it came down to the Nikon Coolpix and the Cannon Powershot range. Went with the cannon a640 10mp and it rocks, without learning anything and straight out the box. Great macro and everything i need. Recommended.
I love Nikon lenses but they kinda screwed themselves in the digi cam realm when they ditched the 1:1 aspect ratio in the macro mode when the lense gets really close. The newer versions slightly fisheye when the lense gets close and they managed to double the minimum working distance from 0.8 inches to 1.6. That and it looks like they got rid of the manual focus, kinda important for getting really close macros.
wowsers ... i have a nikon coolpics L3, 5.1mp but it cant take macros like the older nikon that verite just showed . unless i am doing something wrong (entirely possible !)
other than that it is a nice solid camera. doesnt burn through batteries like some do .
