I've noticed my Digital PH meter has been going crazy lately and I'm thinking maybe its since I added the 2 600 Lumateks...is this possible or do I need a new Probe for my PH meter? I've also introduced the CAP 2A PPM sensor/controller...will the Digital ballast effect this as well? My PH reader will read one number.then go bezerk moving up..then down..and so on

sounds like your probe is borked but im no expert, cant see the relation between a digital ballast and ur ph meter. try testing the ph meter away from your grow room just to make sure tho.

yeah the newer lumeteks are supposed to be shielded I hear older ones are not... might see if you can exhange em for newer models.... if you cant see if you can find a large circular magnet(Tube Shaped) you can lop the power cord through the middle of the circular magnet this shoud eleminate 'some' of the noise(rf interference)

EDIT::

there is a pic of the shape I am talking about, however the magnet in the pic is obviously not large enough for you to pass the plug of your ballast through... I would lok for one at least 1.5 inches long and large enough you can pass your plug through it twice.....passd through once then over and through again ... so make sure its large enough to get through it with the cord already passed through

turn off the silver one and see if you still have issues with the meter...

Also if you are very very comfortable with makign modifications to electrical appliances you can open up the silver one and remove the old power cord and install a shielded power cord... However I dont recomend this unless you really know what you are doing there are caps on the ballast that will hold a large charge(enough to kill ya) and you really need to know what your doing and discharge them before working on the unit

you can pirate one(the shielded cord) from something or purchase one... they are just a reg power cord with a wire mess woven around the power cord inbetween the wires and the polyvinyl jacket...

you will need to connect the new cord to where the old one was connected. I recoment doing it one lead ata time so no mistakes are made.. ie disconnect one and reattach the new one on the shielded cord... then after they are all swapped you will need to attach the woven shield to the case or grounding point used by the ground lead of the cord.

Once again this is a very dangerous job, if you have never done such a thing before I recomend letting a pro at a TV repair shop do it
