Different K's of fluro

Hey all,
So in the past I have always grown with cool white fluros. I have always read it to be the best all around bulb when it comes to veg and flowering with fluros. Now my question is if that's just because it's also the cheapest?

I have recently come across some more money and have some more that I can put into my setup. I don't want to upgrade to HPS/MH so just go with me on this one. :pointlaug

So looking at a chart that represents clorophyll activity in plants, I'll get my best veg growth in the 6000k area which would be a daylight fluro bulb. And I'll get my best flower activity in the 2500k area (kitchen/bathroom fluros are 3000k).

So now that I can afford these more expensive bulbs rather than just cool whites, should I get 1 of each for each of my fixtures to use during veg and flower and have a nice "broad spectrum"? Or should I get enough to fill all my fixtures with daylight bulbs for veg, and then switch them all to kitchen/bath bulbs during flower. Or will I not see much of a difference and I should just stick with cool whites all around?

Thanks!

I always go with the Cool white. never used the kitchen bath ones. If ya have the money buy both. couldnt hurt it any. I've always got great results with cfl's. I dont know how dense your buds will be with floros though. You'll fijure it out, if not, ask away. Peace for Now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Arab2

Cool white is veg. Warm is flower. It's rough but it works.

Veg
6500K-4100K+= is blueish to cool

flower
3500K-2800K(?)= warm

Some people mix them depending on their cycle whether they be flowering or vegging 2-1 in the favor of the cycle.

The "daylight" (6500K or so) is great for vegging.

"Cool" (around 4000K) is good for vegging

"Warm" or "soft" (2700-3000K or so) are best for flowering.

Availabilty has increased while the price has decreased...if you're contemplating a fluorescent investment in your grow space...hook it up with 2100K CFLs.

Thanks for the responses!

I think I'll def go with all daylights during veg and all kitchen/bath during flower then. It'll give me the best production from fluro's.

i cant find any cool white CFL but when i first started the consensus was cool white for veg and warm white for flower. you can grow with all of one or the other though. like i said i cant find any cool white cfl so all i have are warm white/ red spectrum bulbs and my plants grow just fine. I have a cool white 2ft t8 tube but i doubt that has much effect since its like 6+ inches away from the plants until they grow enough to reach the top of my box where the light is affixed.
