different autos outdoors Norway..

hi!

wanna show ya some pics of our autos outdoors this summer and hopefully get a comment or two on some of them as I go along :p

none have very good conditions, some were even set outside when there was still frost and repotted into these pots a bit late after being in small ones (cup-sized) for 1-2 weeks..

the autostrains we planted outdoors so far this summer:
big devil x 3
hindu kush x 5
blueberry x 10
mixed pack x 5
ak47 x 5
DP autoblueberry x 10
easy ryder x 10
ak48 x 5
all feminized except for the blueberrys as we only found regular type of those where we bought. theyll make seeds then!

all are feminized except 1 small () blueberry that were pollinated with another bb male

first pic, not very good quality but.. should give you an idea of what its like

its 7 easy ryder & 5 auto ak here
these were set out a bit early as very small ones, there was some nights with frost still when they were put out. most of them look very small and kinda crappy, while a few seem to be coming along alright I think. had lowryder#2's there previous years, only they were set out a bit later.. anyway they did well there, hoping these will too.. with time. they are now (outdated pic now tho) soon 2 months old already and still look like sprouts.. Lol. hopefully the cold just slowed them down a bit tho and theyll keep going.. some of them looks OK I guess. we'll see....

2 on the right are () blueberrys, top one being male.
btw. that male, it had purple balls. it was killed yesterday, my fingers actually got sticky from handling it (it was a male...), while the toke wasnt too powerful it surely was a little something in it still.. with some trichs on it, as a male. very cool!;)
the 4 others there are all fem. ak48 from sagarmatha, with only top middle one looking OK. Im wondering if they arent AF as advertised after all, as all others around that age have started flowering.. those just keep growing like a normal plant :S
38658372.jpg

heres pic of the top of the lil bb male with the nicely colored balls.. im a newb-grower so first time Ive cn that :p ->
wondering.. could the color be as its Blueberry, or other random factor like stress and not really because its BB?
10578099.jpg

heres the small () blueberry female next to it.. its really tiny, only like 10 or so centimeters, the height of a lighter or a lil more.. lol. but looks kewl.. still hoping for a couple grams of tasty bud in a lil while;)
here seen from the side with camera almost on the ground. taken a rainy morning->
15935946.jpg

these in the woods get nice light.. at the very best upto 20h of direct sun at the luckiest cloudfree days (very rarely that much tho, and lately only crappy weather:|). was there at around midnight yesterday (far into the woods) and wasnt completely dark either, light enough to see around, and sun getting up 3 hours later, so its never getting completely dark either I think. all pics above taken the same night around 2-3am

the hk,mix,dp bb & big devils are on the terrace here and not in the woods and are a bit younger. just a couple sets of leaves. alot less sun there but more stable and better conditions overall. I expect them to get better.

if okay I'll post pics of them later as they grow

one final Q... we got some pretty big pots on the terrace, almost 10L I think.. is this a bit big? can pots ever get TOO big, or is it just better the bigger they are.. no limits? some of those plants may get pretty small, like the HK

Thanks

Kewl, I dunno where in Norway you are - I was in Bergen about 10 days ago for my birthday, to see the mighty Rammstein. It didn't really get dark - I love Norway at this time of year.

But I digress.

Generally speaking, I've found that AFs outdoors give less yield than patio or greenhouse (10L pots), although the smoke/high is comparable. This year has been outstanding so far in the UK, loads of light, good weather all round. Should be a mighty harvest.

heres the rest, all feminized- 5 x hindu kush, 5 x mix packet (said in description white moscow, blueberry, lemon skunk, hindu kush and ak47, so one of each of these), 4 x DP autoblueberry and 3 x big devil (the biggest plants in the back).

2 from the mix packet came up really late, like 2-3 days after all the others had sprouted, and they are really small sprouts too. ..which is why theyre not repotted yet, just doin them last since they are so small anyways. one of the hindu kush sprouts look a lil weird with the first seedleaf being one big instead of 2 small ones, and missing a leaf or something.

also 3 hindu kush plants are in 1 pot.. as a test, thought theyd get pretty small..

hey, cool:)

unfortunately Im not 100% sure when our Big Devils was planted (only ones that werent logged I think :/), but I think they were planted some time in the middle of may.
think yours look a little bigger though, atleast the stem on yours look much fatter, while ours is still green and just started thickening up at the top, and maybe some more sets of leaves on yours. light seem pretty much the same though, but ours only have about 7 hours of direct sunlight the best days. but still ~20 hours of light every day, even though its not direct sunlight. they seem to get pretty tall, probably too tall for our terrace in a while and may be forced to set them out in the woods somewhere some time.. not sure yet

was very unsure about these "super autos".. also have 7 seeds of each of fem. Nirvana Sky and Number One that we wanted to plant with these but will wait for next year I think, as we were really afraid that none of these would really autoflower.. also its getting kinda late this year I guess.. :/ Big autos has been our dream for a long time.. were stuck with small autos as no normal strains would ever flower here. if this goes well (and it hopefully will, according to other logs around here they sure are autoflowering=) we will focus on these big super autos next year and probably mostly only have these big ones. atleast if the smoke is decent too along with big yield i see no big reason to stay with the smaller autos in the future if these yield so much more

just hoping they will get big, start flowering and be finished in time now.. :watchplant:

FYI - I have an auto assassin on the go in a greenhouse, which is in a very large pot (half a plastic dustbin). It's a good 30in tall and still growing, by far the biggest AF I've seen.

Am interested to find out how big the Devils get - 2m+ in such a short time seems unbelievable.

hi weedbringer i must say iam impressed with the bigdevil's so far. i herd they're a good smoke with a good yield mine's have started to bud just like your's i have one thats way bigger than the rest she will be the big hitter by the look's of it but not a lot of side branching going on . They really are getting a thick stem now and a bit top heavy we've had bad tropical storms recently and the big devil's have took the brunt of the wind's so they,ve been caned up but will survive i think ... if all goes well i will do them again next year ..your's look fine ;) mine's should be finnished at the end of august hopefully

. when do you think your's will finnish?

here's a couple of pics

cool:) if this goes well (and seems like it will=) we'll be growing more of these next year too :D

really not sure when to expect them done.. end of august for us too I hope, probably not far away. that would be cool

so far Im very very happy with the Big Devils:)! just wish we had set some number one, nirvana sky or anapurna too to compare, but will keep checking out the other logs around here for them. but no matter what happens Im pretty sure we'll get more Big Devils for next year. really cool seeing them growing like this and start flowering so early.. would never happen here with a normal plant :D really surprised to find white hairs on these already (Im a newbie though), thought theyd get even bigger first, but thats cool Im sure theyll still grow some more :dance013:

would like to make some seeds with these but everywhere I found them they were only offered as feminized seeds (same with the nirvana sky &number one seeds.. only feminized:s), did you see any regular ones anywhere or yours all females too? have 0 males this year (the one that were, the small blueberry, was killed some time ago) so no chanse for seeds as it is now

hm, maybe with the new big "super autos" its getting a bit late to complete outdoors if seeded after today if they get really big and require lot more time. not sure tho.. but atleast with the "normal" sized autos it should still work and give some smokable stuff before the frost comes:) thinking of planting a few more auto blueberrys (only seeds we have that are not feminized) as the 2 we had in a lil field in the woods seemed to go really fast, just cant remember where I put that seedpacket :p

Nice man. Will be excititing to follow for sure.

I like the way you put soil around those biggest plants. Just like "å hyppe poteter" he he.

Good luck man.

=)

when they were repotted the clump of roots/soil was set a bit high up in the new pot before we packed some soil around it and watered. was hoping itd have more space for the roots to grow. did this with another (non-af) plant too, maybe a bit too high, and the roots are coming out on the side to the light.. but seemed to go okay on this, except the soil cracks when it gets really dry and you can see the roots/stems deep in there, prolly not too good either.. also its a bit hard to water when its like this, water just running down the side so gotta water slowly. but was hoping to maximize rootspace this way as we couldnt find any bigger pots. also i guess the soil (and prolly the highest roots too) get much warmer this way when sun in shining on it with this much larger black areas of soil.. was a bit unsure if its good, but hopefully not a problem..

no pics but lil update on the outdoor plants in the woods, was there couple hours ago:

the little field (with 1 male (that was killed earlier) & 1 female blueberry, and 4 fem. ak48 (sagarmatha)).. I dont think it goes too well. the tiny blueberry was cut earlier today and I think we either put that field on hold for next year or plant a bunch of new blueberrys of the same kind hoping they also get small and grow fast to finish in time. as it seems NONE of the fem ak48's from sagarmatha, although advertised to be autoflowering are not... atleast they seem to grow like normal big plants, and all other plants that was planted long before that have already been long in flowering.. so its a waste, it will never finish then. those were the main reason we made that field:| considering killing them and replacing them with some small and fast blueberrys, if I can just remember where I put that seedpackage.....
also the premature tiny blueberry gave two small tokes, no pic but atleast the leaves around nodes were full of trichs.. a tiny treat for the long walk there^^

the other site with pots, theres 12 left there alive now, they all seems to have grown a nice bit, and all have gotten white hairs. some that looked tiny and crappy are still tiny and crappy. one plant there that was put out much later than all the others are definitely the best looking and by far the biggest one (think its an easy ryder), and also the only one that looks OK and more normal. will remember for the future now- dont set them out in the bush before they have atleast a few sets of leaves. theres also one pot there I was especcialy happy to see is autoflowering (same kind as we have 4 of on our terrace-), a pot we put there not too long ago to replace another plant that died, AutoBlueberry from dutch passion that i think is fairly new and was unsure if would AF. but seems it does and looking good so far.. :)

one more there may die.. actually I thought it would die after last time we were there. then it was pretty small, and its little stem had broken so it was lying sideways.. another plant there died this way. dunno how they broke in the first place. anyway this one seems to have survived, is a lil bit bigger now and have even gotten a nice crown of white hairs so surely not dead. the stem where its broke is brown and look dead, but the rest of the plant (that is lying sideways in the pot now) got a nice fat stem.. dunno how it gets nutes, guess theres still a thin lil green something inside that brown appearently dead part giving it water etc. :s

several of the plants there also seems to grow weirdly, have weirdly shaped stems (spiral like) etc. and lots of holes in the leaves eaten b insects. not all stay on straight ground.. so this second spot didnt go too good either it seems.. theres 12 alive there now (all fem. including this 1 autoblueberry, mix of ak47 & easy ryder) so will keep trying and Im sure itll be some atleast. but only 1 of them are decent looking (and Much bigger than the rest..) and thats the one we put there only some weeks ago. all have white hairs now and even if they arent too big Im sure itll be atleast some, hopefully doing it better next time at this site.

all the ones on the terrace are still doing very good i think.
will get some pics of those and the ones in the pots again soon, will do when watering them which Ill do soon as they seemed pretty dry..its a really long walk.

just got home from long walk in the woods. just watered & fertilized (npk 7,1,5) the site with the pots. really dry so seemed to need it

biggest one of them to the left. its just as old as all the others, but were set out a couple of weeks after the others. think its an easy ryder
