Diff between G-13 and Soma's G-13?

I think your missing the Strains Genetic Makeup. Soma makes G13 Crosses. Not the individual G13. There are 2 known G13's Airborne And Pacific, Which are crossed into a lot of other Plants. This strain is a complete mystery. People say it was a smuggled clone from the The University Mississippi. But if thats true then why are there two types? The original is Clone only therefore thats why its allways in crosses and not in seed form. (except for reverse pollination and such). Till the proof is in the pudding I'm not buying the flavor.

I have had g13 a few times, the fan leaves are rumpled and have a slight drop with the heavy indica influence. I don't know about the others but I would stay away from g13 in a breeding project ( or at least the clones I had ) because although they have a medium grade stone, in my opinion the father and mother have a "shrinking" effect on the calyxes and their amount. I have made a couple of crosses with the clone I had a couple times and was dissapointed to say the least, I would like to have some great g13.

Thank you Blatant for the history your sites members are very knowledgable and sharp! Sharp Cheddar!

Blatant,
thanks for that info. I was wondering about G13 myself. I am starting some CaliO. germed a couple of seeds and four sensi seeds indoor mix. I am also hearing about ecsd, but I hear a taste descriptions that does not lend themselves to my tastebuds understanding. I do not know what diesel tastes like; unless you are referrring to Jet fuel, diesel fuel; than yuuuuch.

Q: The movie "American Beauty" mentions a type top secret marijuana grown by the government called G13. Is there such a thing? I personally thought it was made up for dramatic purposes; But some people claim to have smoked it. Are they full of it in terms of its existance? Though I wouldnt be suprised that the government grows secret pot; It just seems highly unlikly that it would be made avalible to the general pot smoking public. Especially to some of the vapid punks I know who claim to have aquired some.

A: We've gotten this question from a few people. It seems highly unlikely that "G13" is anything but a Hollywood product.

Here's what a contributor wrote about the story:

"In the 'Mr. Nice' movie (in English sold under the title "Howard Marks: A Video Diary") portraying Howard Marks, the owner (?) of SensiSeeds says that the breed G13 actually comes from a government employee who managed to steal a plant from growing chamber #13. SensiSeeds supposedly got ahold of such a plant and renamed it or a new breed of it (can't remember precisely) to G13/Mr. Nice. Mr. Nice by the way is G13xHashPlant. Overgrow.com used to have a strainbase in which G13 was also listed, but I haven't checked with them why the took the strainbase completely off the site." -- Lord Aragorn

The only US government produced cannabis we've heard of is from NIDA. The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA; a government agency) contracts with the University of Mississippi at Oxford, Mississippi for the production of cannabis used in the few approved research studies and for distribution to the eight surviving medical cannabis patients grandfathered into the Compassionate Use Program (established in 1975 and cancelled in February 1992). More recently, San Mateo County received permission from NIDA--and subsequently 300 pre-rolled joints--from the Mississippi operation for a medical cannabis study conducted with 60 AIDS patients.

The Mississippi cannabis is notoriously low in THC (reports range from 2-3% to 5% for an exceptionally good crop). If higher-grade plants have been grown there, it has not been published in the literature.

According to a report prepared in November 1996 by Dr. Mahmoud El Sohly, the scientist directing the University of Mississippi growing operation, it costs $200/kilogram to produce marijuana suitable for use in human clinical research and approximately $920/kilogram to process it.

I have the G13 bx which has produced for me an excellent mum... The stone is sublime... She also crosses very well...
I have a thread around here somewhere on G13xNycd...
I have seeds now G13 x Sour bubble which I will start soon...
I also keep a male from the bx seeds, because he is quite the stud, and his daughters are quite potent as well...
I don't know anything about the myth of the G13, but Have been very well pleased by my experience with the backcross... :joint:

nycd tastes like crap in my opinion. smells like armpits. suposedly some smells like tangerines but I didn't get that from my ten pack.

the ecsd smells like lemon rocket fuel and is one the BEST tasting strains ever IMHO.

Well it couldnt have been Navy Seals since they didnt exsist during the time the cutting was taken, they where still just Navy divers back then. Like I said read the post I linked to. The people from Scared seeds started A LOT of the strains that are sold in europe today, thats where Nevil got most of his gene's from, Sam the Skunkman comes from that group and they also had the Haze bros to name a few.

I bought your G13xNYCD via Seedbay. It will be at least a few months before I can plant them, but the pics looked fantastic, so I'm very much looking forward to it! :)
