Did I feminize my seed?

So I had a bunch of AK48s that went hermie on me. I pollenated a couple of buds on my white widow. I have 2 seeds. Would those seeds likely be female since the pollen came from a hermie? The strain would be WWxBBxAK48. I'm germing the bitches right now. Thanks!

Thanks for the input, but that's not what I read though. Anyone else? There have to be some expert breeders here! Chime in!

Im no expert either but i think you will only get feminized seeds if the hermie polinates itself. I think if you polinate another plant with that pollen you will get 50/50. hope this helps

We had 100% females like that. Wid hermie pollen.. But the potency of the plants sucks. Really. A marlboro in the morning will have more feel to it then the weed.

^ good enough..
What strain is that? Ours were big buds.. Might be because of that, it's not the most potent weed to begin with..

I'm no expert but I think that if the AK hermies were caused by stress and were actually true females you would have female seeds but they might be susceptuble to stress causing hermies. I have a ton of seeds that had a hermie for a dad and I've grown them out quite a few times and while I did have a few (very few) male flowers and maybe a couple of seeds they were predominately female.

Just the opposite. (FYI i made my first femm seed in 1999-is that qualified?)
gametes and aleales I wont get into, id have to check facts first-L.O.L.
But if the hermie pollenates itself you get 50/50.
You must pollenate another female plant to get female seed.
Reason is, there are both female and male genes in all pollen.
But a female with male pods has a screwed up ratio. It will have three female parts and one male. If you pollenate a female then your drownding the one male part in the pollen grain .
It will be outnumbered 7 to 1 or something to the likes.
so your seeds will still have that 12.5% male ratio, but it's now a hidden trait.
If you try to make femm seed from femm seed, this ratio will begin to increase, causing more hermies to surface in the strain. Because your inbreeding the hermie trait.
So Femm-1 is great, femm-2 can be 25% hermie to 75 % hermie depending on which pollen donor you choose.
It's also possible to lock in hermiesm by breeding siblings together. I have done it by experiment/accident.
hope this helps

tiedye420, yes this did help. This is the answer that I was looking for. Looks like I have a pretty damn good chance at it being a female. It was merely an experiment. I'll see what I get! Thanks!

If I'm not mistaken Soma does this. Taking pollen from a hermie plant and using it on another plant will result in all female offspring. I'm not sure if the hermie trait carries on or not, it might just be with the plant it hermied on. If everything went right you should have some nice female seeds to play with.

Yeah, I just did it so I could get 2. I didn't want seeds taking over the plant ; ) I'd like to see how much weight I could pull. They are getting close. I've added the P and K booster. Now I'm just sitting back and watching.
