BANDSTAND may have not been the best, but it was entertaining..
R.I.P

Dick Clark, the music industry maverick, longtime TV host and powerhouse producer who changed the way we listened to pop music with American Bandstand, and whose trademark Rockin' Eve became a fixture of New Year's celebrations, died today at the age of 82, ABC News has learned.

Clark, who suffered a serious stroke in 2004 but returned to the airwaves, reportedly died from a heart attack.

Born in Mount Vernon, N.Y., on Nov. 30, 1929, Richard Wagstaff Clark began his lifelong career in show business began before he was even out of high school. He started working in the mailroom of WRUN, a radio station in upstate New York run by his father and uncle. It wasn't long before the teenager was on the air, filling in for the weatherman and the announcer.

Stay Classy!

Damn, Dick, Dead. Lot to be said about the dance shows of the 60's-80's. Dick Clark introduced us and treated us to A LOT of the bands we could only hear on the airwaves. Good times.

R.I.P. Mr. Clark.

The news reported that he had an outpatient procedure yesterday.
I wonder if it was a Carotid angioplasty and the Doctor screwed the pooch! They run ya through those outpatient clinics like cattle at an auction barn.

Yes, RIP Dick Clark! This is the first I've heard that he had a procedure yesterday. I'm sure he didn't go to some random clinic, being a multi-multi-millionaire I'm sure he had quality care.

That being said, the Dr still could have botched the procedure... I'll be on the lookout for updates on this... LOL who am I kidding, TMZ or other media will be all over this, no need to be on the lookout for anything!

Every time Dick Clark talked music only dollar signs came out of his mouth. If left up to him we would've had a English invasion of the Herman Hermits, Dave Clark Five and the like. Oh Yeah the SOB also gave us disco trash.
