The family of Kristine Kirk is suing 2 marijuana businesses for selling the hubby edibles. A couple years ago hubby shot her while she was on the phone to 911. The family blames marijuana edibles for causing the psychotic break of hubby. There were low levels of THC in the husband. The news didn't mention that hubby was also being treated for mental problems and he also had anti-psychotic drugs in his system. Sure blame the weed for the other problems he had. I guess they are after money.

It's sad what happened but...

I doubt they have a strong case.

He voluntarily purchased the products then voluntarily ate them. I guess due diligence is only applicable to monetary investment. SMFH

This is the kind of shit that has the court systems all fucked up n slow!
People need to be held responsible for their choices especially when they fuck up such as this. I hope dude is getting some real help for his mental issues.

I have made edibles where someone lost their shit beyond belief.

Got naked in front of wife and kids, said get my suit I am dying, and confessed all his current wrong doings including his current affairs. Medics had to come get him. Absolute virgin to weed and he pounded half a dozen extremely potent cookies.

He made the decision to eat so many but I would never had willingly taken part in it, definitely would have given a proper warning.

Think the illicit market tries to avoid shit like this out of self preservation. Might be a good time to give guidelines to dosages and warnings to first time/new/light users.

I find there no excuse to have a fuck the user attitude here.

That is the kind of stance big pharma takes with its drugs, it is ok to kill a small percentage of people if everyone else gets benefit. Pot is kinder than that, it doesn't have to be that way with weed.

This is like those idiots that try to sue a gun manufacturer because somebody used their gun to shoot someone. What's next? Suing car manufacturers if someone gets in a crash? Just sounds to me like the family is trying to blame anyone/anything they can.

Shame to deal with having murdered family members.

Makes for heightened sense of drama and importance
to even small things. Let alone the funerals and the
police investigation.

Ruins family and community sometimes. The finger pointing.

The desperation and grief.

Cannabis is categorized as an HALLUCINOGENIC!

I've tripped from a huge smoke session coupled w sleep deprivation. It was a Blue Moonshine cartoon land for a while that night.

People need to realize, when they point a finger at something/someone, that there ate 3 fingers pointing right back at themselves.

Because there were no "Warning Labels" of possible side effects, instructions on how much to eat.....that's in part what will play out negatively for the edible producer.

Too, the man's emotional state at the time will come into question.

Edibles can really wad people up. I have a high tolerance but have tripped the fuck out on some brownies. Bad too, harder than some acid. Wasn't pleasant.

But like the Zeppelin tune, nobody's fault but mine..
