Dennis Kucinich

A few months back, I studied the candidates' position on various issues and came to the conclusion that Dennis Kucinich is the one who resonates most closely with me. And this is before I was considering the fact that he would like to decriminalize MJ.

Taken from a post Taxiboy, which was taken from www.dennis4president.com:

As a nation, we must work to implement a drug policy that removes responsible recreational users and medical users of marijuana from the criminal justice system, in order to redirect resources toward the following goals:

* Enforce penalties for those who provide marijuana to minors.
* Enforce penalties for those who endanger the rights of others through irresponsible use, such as driving under the influence.
* Develop drug treatment programs focused on rehabilitation, rather than incarceration.
* Support the efforts of state governments in developing innovative approaches to drug policy.
* Improve drug education by emphasizing science over scare tactics.
* Implement a Department of Justice program that would review the records of, and consider for sentence reduction or release, inmates convicted for nonviolent marijuana offenses. *

Please see http://www.dennis4president.com/go/issues/ and take 10 minutes to read up on him. I understand that he seems like a candidate that doesn't stand a chance, but it's time that we vote for the person best for the job, not the person most able to win.

P.S. I also posted this in Cannabis L & L...hope no one minds, I just wanted to get him exposure. I feel the enlightened stoners would be a good swing vote. With him in office, those of you with paranoia issues would be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Kucinich is just as bad as Bush. Using fear mongering to push his personal agenda and limit our freedom. This article was published ONLY 4 days after the virginia tech shootings:

http://www.prisonplanet.com/articles/april2007/200407banguns.htm

Dennis Kucinich has drafted legislation that will completely ban the purchase, sale, transfer, or possession of handguns by civilians.

Just as the Bush administration exploited the immediate aftermath of 9/11 to ram through the Patriot Act, Kucinich cites the Virginia Massacre as evidence of a "national emergency" that requires an instant assault on the bill of rights to "protect" us all from the madmen.

His wife Elizabeth is a hottie too.......
elizabeth_kucinich.jpg

A British girl from Essex, in southern England, may be the first lady with a tongue stud to have set her sights on the White House.

The wife of Dennis Kucinich, a left-wing Democratic congressman and 2008 presidential candidate, is a 29-year-old hippie chick from Upminster at the end of the London Underground’s District line.

Elizabeth Kucinich, has been on the stump with her husband, a 60-year-old anti-war campaigner from Cleveland, mingling with the likes of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama backstage at the Democratic presidential debates........

yadda yadda yadda.......

You can still kill alot of people with a semi-auto AR-15 civ model.

Jack D Ripper: Where in that article do you find fear mongering? It has only a couple quotes from Dennis, and those are about investigating 9/11. The author of the article uses loaded words in making an assessment of Kucinich's position. Yes, Dennis was reacting to the shooting at Va Tech--he cites the incident as one example of gun violence running rampant--but shouldn't a good politician react to situations as they occur?

Go here to read more on his position:
http://kucinich.house.gov/News/DocumentSingle.aspx?DocumentID=62819

I think people could do without handguns. Get a taser, or pepper spray, if you feel a need for protection.

Kucinich abused the nation's irrational fear (the day after the VT shootings) to try to steal our second amendment rights while we were mourning and vulnerable. That is slimeball politics...

Kucinich tried to take handguns rights away from EVERY american except LEO... but that wont solve anything because LEOs like killing sprees as much as Seung-Hui Cho.

"Deputy fired 30 shots from rifle in killing 6, officials say" October 8th 2007

If Kucinich has no respect for our 2nd ammendment, why would he respect ANY part of the bill of rights?

He's never said he would like all arms banned, only handguns. I doubt our founding fathers would have felt it necessary to have handguns, assault rifles, bazookas or otherwise.

I'm more concerned about having a strong country, one that believes in forging peace--not weapons--and building the nation.

As an American I thought I had a right to defend myself? If you take my handguns away how do I do that? Do I then rely on the police to protect me or do I rely on that sawed off little prick Kucinich to protect me?

Don't pretend like you aren't a Kung Fu master. We all know the truth. You can defend yourself just fine, and you know it.

Use the Force.

You don't need a handgun to defend yourself. You could have a deer rifle to protect your home or business and if you felt unsafe walking around, I suppose you could invest in a taser or pepper spray...or maybe carry a baseball bat wherever you go.

Dennis is the real deal

Dennis is the real deal

Hey now, I know most of us involved in growing herb like to stay out politics.
We are happy "flying below the radar". Dennis Kucinich is my congressmen.
I've known him for 40 years. He is the real deal. What he says is what he means. He not afraid to speak truth to power. He does believe in ending the War, Drug War I'm talking about. He supports Medical Marijuana intiatives and laws. He is the only Democrat that has not been afraid to talk about this subject. I know Ron Paul also favors ending the "war on drugs."
I am supporting him for President because I think he the best chance for real change among all the people who are running for President.
Dennis defend the Constitution. He does believe in gun control. In my city we have had too many incidents of gun violence to not want some controls on who got weapons. Dennis did once own a gun himself, that he kept in his home. He not gonna take your guns away, but if your not allowed to own one, well you better give it up. What did the gun advocates propose after those schoolhouse shooting. "Lets arm the teachers", well that just nuts. More guns in schools, urban areas will not end the alarming incidents of gun violence. You know more people have died this year 2007 in Mass.& Conn from Heroin overdoses than bullet wounds.
I want the right to grow and smoke herb. Stop the wars against drugs and Iraqis. Dennis Kucinich is not your everyday politician. He sticks to his beliefs. He is not owned by any special interest. I'm not saying you got to agree with everything he proposes. As president he can only put forth idea's.
Congress passes the laws. As I said he's a friend of mine, and I've been pretty proud of his imput in our ****ed up system of government.
This man is real and he not afraid to speak his mind. He supports changing the Federal government's laws concerning marijuana.
He is a real long shot to be president, but he is trying his best to get some alternative ideas into the debate. you can check his positions at
www.Dennis4President.com He be glad to hear from you.

Yeah, I personally do not like the guy.

He seems like a kind of ambulance chaser to me. The kind of politician that panders to a select group of voters just so he can find some niche to be relevant. I do not need the federal government regulating handguns and I do not need the federal government regulating cannabis. I need/want them to stay the fuc*K* out!

I will hold off any further nasty comments on him though. But everyone else that wants to diss him, fire away...
