Like many other companies, Delta 9 labs is run by one person, that takes care of production, breeding, distribution, markting, and everything else. For love of the plant, he says, he continues to take on this stress. The multiple possiblities this plant displays, her beauty, and last but not least her medical value, have motivated him to turn all his energy to cannabis.
Ed Borg, is his name, an american that has been living in Amsterdam for 9 years and is pulling all the strings at Delta 9 Labs. As a Photographer, early on in his teens, he discovered cannabis. even though cultivation is considered a crime in the United States this is were he gained first hand experinced.
Arriving in Amsterdam, he first received help and addvice from Wernard (positronics) and Ben Dronkers (sensi seeds) showing him everything about the plant. With time Ed got to know a lot of people in the Holland grower scene. He started working for coffeeshops growing weed from different seedbanks for the shops.
More by acciedent, he disscovered the possiblieties of combining traits from different cannabis strains. He found, in his garden, seeds that should not have been there (no males in the population) Ed found out that this was a plant reaction caused by enviormental stress. The first grows were with seeds he found in his weed, and so came about a genetic library with strains from Cali, Thai, Asian . this is how he learned about growth, and enviorment etc…He learned that stablizing genetics takes more than ten generations, lots of space, and lots of money.
His idea was to combine the best of the best available genetics and to tweak them a little. His good contacts in the Holland cannascene gave him the opportuinity to do so, SensiStar from Paradise seeds with Reclining Budda from Soma seeds became CannaSutra.
This all happened with approval from both seed banks, because this project is not to cause bad bussiness/vibes or competion, says Ed Borg, it´s more like a hot rod it´s still a car but it’s a HOT ROD!
The Production possiblities of Delta 9 Labs is rather small compaired to other seed banks. The number of strains in the sortament is going to be kept small, in the future 3 more strains should hit the market, when excactly is not known , right now Delta 9 Labs is concentrating on improving there three strains and keeping an invantory of all the better cannabis strains out there.Ed´s philosophy is to offer the best seeds from the best grass from around the world.
