it all depends how big of an area you have..most dehumidifiers that work well consume at least 500 watts and up.. that is for a larger area.maytag comes to mind,digital.600 650 watts.does a large area.SOLeus has a 65 pint unit thats new 600-650 watts.Lg are junk.Danby digital heard its quiet and does big area.IF you really want more industrial dehumidifiers, look at woods or ebac or santa fe.there $ but the ebacs are supposely lower wattage 2.5 amps and do large areas.COuld always go with a whole house dehumidifier to the duct with charcoal filtration but that makes for a hvac advice to set it up properly. think about using a small a/c(dehumidifies and cools). The whole enviroment thing is tricky .hope i helped
thanks for the reply .. well i agree lg's are junk . its loud as a jet plane , and cant seem to get my basement under 55% ,, what im looking for is something to do my basement . its not huge - average size , and its not wet either . no musty smells no sweating.
I use a 45 pint maytag in an 8 by 8 flower room, the importance of dehumid in flower is rarely talked about even though its important if you ask me.I pull a little over 2 gallons a day when my room is full of plants, thats a lot of water. Its an absolute must to run it during lights out when your RH rises dramatically, lest you have the morning dew on your buds.I run it during lights on when heat permits,I just set it at 40% and let her go.The water is great to use for your plants also, mine is between 2-5 PPM usually.EDIT I should add I run a sealed flower room with co2,if I had air moving in and out I may not get as much water but I'd still use a dehumid
OH YES U NEED DEHUM or that white shit will come and kick your ass. also fuck your lungs up when cutting down.. OH THATS RIGHT (P-O-W-D-E-R M-I-L-D-E-W)
3/4 of weed sold on the street is packed with it... so buy a dehum everyone!
Maytag 32 pint in my 2k 7x13...plus an 18K window unit to control the temps and assist with humidity removal...I'd rather have the 45 pint or larger, but I couldn't pass up the 32 pint for $38 at lowes.
BTW, now is the time to pick up clearance ACs and dehumidifiers since most stores are starting to fill their shelves with fall stock
