need some help making a decision on dehumidifier size for new room.

Hard to say how much the plants will drink each day...I am guessing in the range of 20-30 gal at peak.

What I have done... is hook up a direct in line fan from the dehuey leg of my RH controller, discharging into the lung room via charcoal filter and dehumidify that, because deheying the growe room itself with theunit inside raises temps 6-8 deg F (manual) Besides they were never designed (home units) to be used in a grwo setting, which calls for industrial shit specifically design to do the job.

Dehumidifiers can be a bit expensive so I would say get the biggest one you can afford. They all pretty much work the same so the big determining factor on the cost is how much it can hold before it needs to be emptied. Now if you plan on constantly being around to where you can check on things multiple times a day then you can ignore what I said and get the cheapest one which of course will be the one that holds the least amount of moisture collected before it needs to be emptied. The reason I said get the biggest one you can afford is because I have seen countless growers over the years come check up on their grow room only to find the humidity way too high because at some point earlier the dehumidifier filled up and stopped running waiting for someone to empty it. Of course high humidity can lead to things like mod issues and other problems which you want to avoid. So ideally you would get one with a large enough capacity that it's not completely full at the point in the day you check on things and then if you empty it as part of your routine when you check on the grow you should never have a problem. That being said I believe some if not most can bet set up to constantly drain thru a house that runs outdoors and if you get one that can do that you don't have to worry about the drain pan filling up.

Because I have witnessed a great number of growers over the years come to check on their grow room only to discover that the humidity was way too high because at some point earlier the dehumidifier had filled up and stopped running waiting for someone to empty it, this is the reason why I recommended that you purchase the largest one that you are able to afford. Naturally, things like mod troubles and other problems, both of which you want to prevent, may be caused by excessive levels of humidity.
