They look too big for their pots to me. I would put them into something bigger with fresh soil, (which should have plenty of nutes) and some room for the roots but that's just me.

do you really want to transplant that late into flowering? Those pots look big enough for me, but thats just my experience.

Hello TryComb,
Do not transplant now as its too late for that. Have you checked your tric's yet to see where your at with development? Seeing how you don't know what flowering times your dealing with this may be just the plant winding down to ripen. Your at 41 days now and maybe you have a 50-56 day strain. Have you started any flush yet? It's hard to tell, but it seems like your pistels are all turing brown rather quickly...is this right? Check your trics and I think you will find that your plant is doing what it's suppose to do....ripen and start to die. It's all good but one piece of advice i would give you is transplant more than once ( should be 2-3 times before flower from seed) and finish in 3-5 gallon pots ( 5 if you the space)...you will love the results my friend.

Peace,
Jazz

Thanks everyone for the feed back. Sorry I didnt get back sooner I was out of town. Back now tho.

Jazzjazz-
I have been giving them just water since after the leaves started yellowing more. What is the best way to check the tric with I have a portable micoscope from radio shack but I tried using it on just a dried bud from my sack, but it was tough to use. Do you know what would be good??

Crap I forgot yes the pistils have been turning brown. I heard that can be a sign they are nearing the end??

Thanks

Usually yes but there can be other reasons for that as well. You REALLY have to go by the trichomes to tell harvest time correctly. What day of flowering are you on? I'm sorry but I disagree with transplanting "being too late to do" I've never found a cutoff date on transplanting and I've transplanted plants into different containers no matter WHAT age they are and I find it the easiest way to fix a fair amount of soil problems. In fact, if you are careful, the plant should barely notice and there certainly should NOT be any negative effects to the plant aside from the day or two it takes to figure out it now has more room and fresh nutes, helping restore soil chemistry. General rule is 1 foot main stem per gallon of soil.

Also, check out Stitch's excellent Sick plants sticky........really good info there as well. Most likely better than mine as I am a hydro grower at heart.
good luck.

Yup.

But myself I wouldn't put them into another pot at 41 day flower and would just take this is a learning experience.

What's happening is that since so much of your potting container is root-balled, it cannot feed off the natural soil ferts.. especially organic.

You need to supplement some ferts when watering. I'm talking a flower forumla from the hydro store.. not a molasses tea or anything. take it LIGHT on the nutes and do NOT follow the bottle or you can cause more damage.. Ask someone who knows in the soil forums how much nutes to give it. You seem to have a good amount of Indica in that stain and it could probably handle a fair amount of nutes.

If you had another strain then you might be suprised that you would have no problems at this stage if you did the very same things.

Remember, don't over feed. Monitor the new growth and make sure sure the leaves are not too light, not too dark.

I like this answer better than mine. :) But generally soil chemistry gets off with the dying off roots that are all cramped and suffocating.....consider also a zyme product to try and stave off root rot.

good luck.

I am using big bloom and tiger bloom from fox farms. As I stated before I stopped using them about 6-7 days ago maybe more. Are you saying I need to add more nutes? I was still giving them nutes for a few time when the leaves started yellowing. It was not doing anything so I stopped The day is now 44 still yellowing and some brown crusty spots, (there is some of these spots on the previous pics. Could it just be they are close to the end and they are dying?? I checked the trics they are clear for the most part maybe a few cloudy. Maybe a ph prob?? Anyone seen anything similar? I think Ph lock out of mag. Anymore thoughts out there guys??

Thanks

I have a taste for exotic sativas, so I have a pretty decent amount of experience with root-binding. I can tell you, almost without a doubt, that the reason that your plants are yellowing is because they don't have a large enough root system to uptake the nutrients necessary to support them. As it is, your yield will suffer.

The short answer to your question is that they are showing an N and possible Mg deficiency. The more accurate answer has already been given to you by Wh and Crush.

i had a root bound girl in 12/12 .i cut the bottom off of the planter i had it in and set it on top of the other container ,submerged a little bit and allowed the roots to grow into the container underneath until she was done .Peace
