I just got home from work and decided to check my plants and I just noticed that a deer ate on my biggest plant, which is not in flower of course, and it has 5 sets of leaves, 1 complete set and 3 half sets, but it did not eat the new growth on top. The plant is leaking where the leaves was at, but does not seem to be drooping with what leaves it has. I was just wondering if the plant will over come this tragedy or is it a goner? (I know it is hard for me to over come it, FUCKING DEAR!!!!) The plant is a little over a foot tall and if it would help to have some pics let me know.

will most likely be fine, I heard that if you pee all over around your plant deer won't go near it as they fear your penis or something...
Thanks guys, it scared the piss out of me, and also pissed me off to see my once nice looking plant missing what I consider a lot of leaves. Now when I say they ate sets I mean like complete sets of Five fingers and such so the deer left me with like a total of three pluss the new growth on top.

I've never suffered too much damage from the deer. They eat a little but typically they'd rather eat what's around the plants out in the bush. I've had them bed down on the soft soil I've mulched up and kill my plants. It's a great comfy looking spot to lay down they think.
As far as rabbits go, they can be devastating. They will fall a 4 foot plant and not even eat it. They are like little loggers or beavers. We lost 40% of a 300 plant crop to them one year.
I suggest you look for a product called Skoot next year. It's like thick milk, non poison and it works like you wouldn't believe. Don't drink while handling it. You may get the shits.
For rabbits/hare, I've tried miles of chicken wire fence, poison, traps...rifles!!! Forget it. They are nocturnal, they dig under feces and reproduce like spider mites! Skoot was the end all to our problems!
You spray it as soon as you put a plant out. The pest taste it once and for the rest of their lives they associate pot with that taste and will never touch it. By the time your plants are mature and into flower, that growth that the spray is on is a non factor. You won't taste, smell or see it.
I've never lost $$ to their munchies since.

spray all the leaves with hot pepper wax, it will make the foliage taste bad to deer and insects.

I used to grow plants on deer trails. Anything unnatural will scare deer. Hang bars of deodorant soap around the area. Scent of humans will also scare deer. Scatter hair from the barber shop. LOL. Pea everytime you go visit the plants. I also used to take my dog along and let it pea too. Human crap does not scare them as much. For rabbits, the fungicide thiram works good to repel them.

When i had my plants close to the house, I would leave the radio on real loud and the windows open to repel critters.

My folks have a place in an area of "high deer concentration" and have quite a few plants that are highly sought after by deer. It can also be quite moist and foggy. We tried everything including electric deer fences but when hungry and desparate they'd even plough through despite the shock. The only thing we have found that really works is dried blood. You can buy it at most farm supply or garden shops and it is fairly cheap. Sprinkle it liberally around plants and beds and the deer won't touch'em. It's a natural solution free from chemicals. The only downside is you have to re-apply after each significant rain.
Oh, as for urine, it helps in the short run but loses potency as it drys/evaporates. Even a heavy dew or high humidity can quickly minimize it's effectiveness. Dried blood is concentrated so it lasts longer even in moist conditions and thus less of a need for reapplication.
