Deep Chunk - landrace of hybrid?

Does anyone have detailed info on deep chunk. It is truly a pure landrace and never been crossed with anything? i know it looks pure afghan and certainly that is what everyone is saying but how certain is it that this strain has never been outcrossed at any stage? out of 5 DC plants. 4 fems and 1 male from seed. 2 runt fems. all are looking nice. Will be making seed from them. Flowering 12/12 from seed. Going to try this strain for medicinal use for my migraines and another condition i suffer. So far the plants are impressive looking in early flower. NO stretch at all. In fact looks like they got shorter, lol. Will definitely be preserving it in its pure form and not crossing it with anything. Keep the genetics pure.

from the shear stability of it and when looking for phenos inside the population it must be a pure landrace indica. There is no doubt in my mind that has never been crossed with anything. ENJOY it! there are so few of landrace genetics left.

from the information around deep chunk is a heavily worked IBL, it's been in california for many a years, I Don't think you can call it a landrace, it's a relatively slow vegger and poor yielder and stays short, I wouldn't expect much yield if you start it on 12/12 from seeds.

It would not think a person is going to find a true breeding plant in a population of landrace genetics. As burningfire mentioned the line is a worked IBL, although derived from a certain population of indica, it has been stabilized.

Landrace populations are diverse as can be. There is a theme, but the costumes worn are quite diverse. 1:1 breeding is a bad idea for the most part to begin with, and the worst idea if considering using a true landrace plant. It may feel and sound great, but not the best idea for breeding anything other than shots in the dark.
Being the DC is a stable true breeding plant, it is a far better choice for any small group breeding purposes than ANY landrace, even the population it originally came from.

*More than likely the DC is still a "landrace" plant. It can be worked to stable from within the population. It is just that certain traits are keyed in on and others filtered out by squaring.

I would disagree on the "slow vegger" part. Have you seen that leaves? Compare that to some "ordinary" indicas and you'll see that leaf biomass in DC is huuuge. The only thing that bothers me with DC is mold issues. He catches mold like a magnet. Other than that very fine smoke.

My deep chunk is a low producer. Beautiful though. I will be keeping that mother for a long long time.

how about the cbd levels in this one?

Not as much as in other afghani's I've tried, honestly. It has a pretty pleasant up high (for a 100% indica), and it's not a heavy couch like stone.

I might have not grown it right though :D

It's NOTORIOUS for being a slow vegging strain.....

again ... amount of leaf mass in DC is huge compared to other strains. So i disagree.

I completly agree with you coxswain, Deep Chunk it's the queen of Biomass production, huge leafs; very fat and dark green leafs ( high chlorophyl concentration), strong stems and short fat nodes...for me that's vigour. Effect it's superb and taste unique, I wouldn't say it's a hybrid as I think best pure indicas, show this kind of leaves and short growing.

salud! thank's so much TomHill for bring us this strain!

Here are my small plants. 12/12 from seed pots and pollinated to make more seeds. Some nice colours.

about CBD levels. We would expect it to be low in CBD being heavily selected line bred would we not? or am i wrong? would be interesting for someone to test the cannabinoid profile of this strain.
