Description
The "Freshmaker" filter line will enable single pass filtration of strong odors at very high CFM’s. These highly efficient charcoal fiber filters can be used in the front or the end of any exhaust line. You may push or pull air through them. They have a tough structure that won’t collapse, and are extremely light, easy to handle and attach and they do not need any assembly. The Organic Air Freshmaker filters consist of three layers of highly active charcoal fiber with millions and millions of active micro pores that attract and capture odors. The filter is easily washed to keep the micro pores clean and ready to absorb more odors. 0-5000 CFM The highest rated filters with the largest surface area on the market, and at less than ½ the size of old traditional filters! Compare an old 150 filter that weighs in excess of a 150 lbs., to a higher capacity filter that weighs less than 10 pounds! Technology & Organic Air Filters are making life easier.

The basic freshmaker is a piece of shit, designed to sell you multiple new filters, I may have the wrong product, I tried it five years ago. This might be fine, but the older plug in models were a waste.

Edit - I may have the wrong product, if so please disregard, but I can see that product name and box in my mind, not the one above.

These don't work for odor control.

The HEPA intake filters by the same company kick ass, however, but are overpriced.

i just got a 6'' deau passe filter and it was recomended to me by the guy at the grow shop . i like the fact its so small i hope it hopes as good as he says he said that he has sold alot of them in the last 2-3 months no returns or complaints . He said if i did not like it i could bring it back cant wait until the lights flip on so i can hook this thing up . also saw a couple of them demo'ed sp. hooked directly up to air cooled hoods , if this works as good as he says i'll probobly get a couple with air cooled hoods

hello everyone i just wanted to say i am really happy with my Deau Passe 6 in air filter just installed last night and went to check on the "spot" that that i was using it in and i was extremely happy with the wonderful smells i could not even get the slightest wiff of. before today i didnt have anything to combat the odor and now i feel so much better.

I;d also like to say i almost did not buy one but the guy at the store was pretty convincing after reading about them here i was a little nervous about it working , but i did not find much about the Deau Passe here so i figured i would try to give somthing back to this wonderful community .

I really think these seem to work well . I will update everyone to let them know how this works over time ,the instructions say to spray them out once a month and then put them in the oven for a while im curious to see how that works but right now ill say i really am impressed by how well its working.

i asked a hydro guy about this organic filter, he said a few of his customers didn't like it. he recommended the hepa filter (blue) instead of the charcoal.

I use one, just for my intake to cool my lamps. So far so good. Place a bright light inside it, if you can not see through it replace it. Just like an auto air filter.

pro engineer, how long have you used it for? The manufacturer claims that you can wash them once a month and not have to replace it for years. Has this been your experience?

Has anyone used one for a full grow or longer?

I have been using it for a solid year now, its attached to vortex 8" 747cfm blower. That is used to cool 4-1000 watt lamps. I have never clean it. The reason I use it is to avoid any bugs getting into the sealed room.

can you explain the order of your air cooled set up? is the 8" vortex is pulling air from outside the room thru the hoods thru the fan and out thru the filter then outside the room? i'm not sure i understand the set up. thanks.

I use a totally sealed room, first I have the air filter, second I have a duct muffler, third is the blower. All of the above are outside the G.R. I push the air into the hoods. The hoods are about 95%-98% airtight so I get a little bit of filtered fresh air from the air leaks around the hoods, into the G.R. These small air leaks create a positive pressure inside the G.R. that actually seals my entry door. There are times when I have to force the door open with my shoulder, yes its that tight.

so the filter is attached to one end of the muffler and the fan is attached to the other end and is pulling from the filter/muffler and pushing the air thru the hoods?

i've always pushed air thru the hepa filter. i didn't know that i can attach it to the back of the fan and pull air too.

These filters are very similar to a K&N high flow auto air filter some people use on there car & truck. However the one's used on auto have a special oil on them to catch the contaminates.

thanks for the comparison. i actually have a k&n air filter (which is washable) in my car. I never read why i needed re-oil the filter when i clean it, but now i know. i wonder if the oil will help in anyway on my hepa filter. i doubt i'll ever try it though.

just to be sure, i verified with sunlight supply that the hepa filter works efficiently whether you push or pull air thru it. thanks for making me think about my set up a little different PE, i'm going to change a few things around.

Just wanted to say I just got the 4 inch model. I have a small closet, so it should be enough. I have to say, it works better than I expected, so far. I'll update in about 6 weeks, when the filter will be put to the big test!

-Update-

Well, i'm disappointed with the 4inch model. 5 days into flower, and I've had to add a secondary filter (well, now primary CAN 50+6inch Vortex). Even with the CAN running %75, I can still smell outside my tent. I think this one (Charcoal) would be fine used for intake filtering/bug prevention, but as a scrubber, it's too small for my application. Dang, I was really hoping this would turn out good. I'm tired of heavy, bulky charcoal filters :cuss:

I went to the hydro shop and asked the guy wtf is the deal with those filters, they're meant to be a pre filter to prevent mold and insects from entering the grow room to keep it clean. DOES NOT CONTROL ODOR
