Dealing with stretch

Hey all, I've started my 3rd grow, Northern Lights from Nirvana, and have had some stretching due to starting it under CFLs that could have been closer to the plant. I also have pretty severe height limitations to deal with so I need to keep her as short as possible. It seems like I read somewhere that when transplanting you could plant it lower, covering some of the stalk making the plant effectively shorter. Does anyone have any experience with this or just some good old fashioned know how?

Planting a plant deeper works.

The best way to control a plants size is by starting it in small
pots. Then transplanting only after a few weeks into flowering.

Keeping things a little on the drier side also helps.

Read my HOW TO MANAGE SATIVAS INDOORS link in my signature for stretching control guidance.

That can work, but it can also give you stem rot. Your better off using that room for your bottom roots. I wouldn't

Scrog it? Probably the best bet
Stem pinching keeps nodes close
Top fan leaf removal breaks capillary action on that branch or top and will slow stretch
Intense light
Colder temps
Topping

Lots of ways to reduce stretch but you didn't give a ton of info

My first grow was a white widow that I scrog'd and ended up with 38g dry. The second grow I decided to try manifolding an AK-48 and just chopped on Sunday. Ended up with 8 decent sized buds. 186g wet hoping for at least the 38g. I'm thinking about combining a little of both. The scrog worked well with my height issues, only 36" top to bottom, the manifold worked great but all that cutting took way too long growing in soil. So I'm going to go with a lot of LST this time.
