ive been veggin 5 white widows from seed in a dwc setup. for light im using a 250w mh. im using dyna grow nutes. well every thing was going great the plants looked great at about 6 inches tall. last nite i changed the water, lowering it to an inch below the netpots and upped the nutes alittle bit. i started at 1 tsp of nutes to a gallon and went up to 1.5 per gal last nite.(2-3tsp is full strength) this morning 3 of the plants were very dead. totally wilted dead leaves. 1 seems to be fine and one more looks pretty bad but is still alive. i cant seem to figure out y they all died. i dont see any signs of nute burn. i used water from the hose but thats what ive been using the whole time. all i can think of is that maybe the water was too cold as its pretty cold around her in new england. any ideas?????? also is it possible to transplant from soil to my dwc as i have 4 more healthy ladies in soil. thanks in advance!

First off, some pics would be great if possible, but I'll help the best I can
without them, as you've given some good detail about what you've done.

The cold water could have been the problem, it may have sent them into shock,
if so, it may take a week or two for them to recover, so monitor them daily to
make sure the problem doesn't get worse. However, being White Widow is renouned
for being picky with nutrients, I suggest you go back to the nutrient strength and
water level you were previously using, the plants found it happy with those levels
before, so it's best to stick with what works, but I think the cold water is
the main problem here and not nutrient strength.

Also, what is the pH range your using...?

Hope this helps, if not, hope somebody else can...

the plants are about 2 weeks since germination. the roots on the biggest one are about 2 ft long. the temps are around 75-80 degrees most of the time. i have been having some problems testing the ph properly. all i know is that it is below 6.2. i plan on buying a ph pen when i et paid next week. im also thinking about getting a tds meter. my camera isnt working right now so i dont have any pics. thanx for the info guys. any thoughts about transplanting from soil to hydro??

dont use tap water , unless u let it sit out 24hours befor u plan on useing it new england treats it water with clorein or how ever it spelled . water temp shoud be 58f. nutes shoud be halfed atleast for first 10" of growth .plants can only use nutes if they have the leaf mass to do so . so most times wait till a foot high or so to full nutes

Seems odd. Did you shake up your nutes if they are a liquid before using? Sounds like a mixing problem for something so sudden.

no its the exact right temp water holds the nutes best at 58f . dont think so check out advandce nutes website off ubangrower.com u look at the results and tell me its wrong . as for me ill take 8oz-10oz tight dense buds :bat:

Temperatures below 68 degrees f (20 c) bring about changes in root growth and behavior. Reduced root growth and coarser looking roots result. Ion absorbtion of the elements phosphorus, iron, and manganese are affected. Water gets more "sticky" at these cooler temperatures and movement in and around the plant root is slowed.

yeah but your adding that cold water to a medium , that u grow in and that raises the temp of water , unless your medium is ice cubes go with 58f , do a side by side if u think im lieing , i used to grow with warmer res temps and will never go back
