DC inline fans?

Looking for something that I can control the speed on the cheap, dont wanna spend a bunch of many getting vfds and stuff to control a/c fans. PC fans don't really offer a bunch of static pressure, but If I really have to I might be able to undervolt some san ace or delta fans if there's no good ready made options

Has anyone ever used the bilge fans from amazon(here)? I'm curious how well they work, but I'm really looking for something in the 6" range

I was completely unaware of the existence of off the shelf stuff like this. I would be very curious myself to see how they work. I may get one just to experiment with. Built for the environment they are, they must be very durable, and anything that runs on DC is going to run more efficiently.
Sorry I couldn't offer any practical insight but thank you for opening my eyes!

They seem to have pretty good reviews, I might buy one just to play with too. My 6" fan is too big for a bedroom, and all I need it for is to filter smoke so it's kind of overkill

True. And going from a 6" AC fan to a 4" DC fan you will likely see a noticeable power consumption drop!
