Daylight Savings Time anyone?

Anyone move their timers ahead 1 hour to accommodate daylight savings time?
I run my lights from 7pm to 7am and I want to keep it that way so I moved them , but I'm sure it's going to be a shock for the girls, at least for a day or two.
Thanks!

I dont bother to change the time. If you plan to do so in the future its better for them to have extra dark than extra light.

The government has the power to CHANGE TIME! Wow, is that a product of World War II megalomania or what? Fuck you government for making me change my clock twice a year.

I never adjust my garden timers for DLST..There's no need.. Ca voted to stop DLST 4 years ago and we are still doing it.. Shows everyone voting doesn't change anything. It's 100% of those that get voted in fault that stall these changes.

lmao, you can only do so much when every damn store uses DLST..It ain't like we don't do our own thing. If most stopped using DLST that might move bills we voted for along faster. We sure as hell ain't dependent on the GOV.

When it comes to growing if you're going to change your timers to match daylight savings time it's best to do it in a way the the dark period remains the same length all the way thru the change. Now if you are in veg and you're running 18/6 it doesn't really matter when you change it because whether the plants gain or lose and hour of dark or light for one 24 hour period it's not going to make a difference to the plant. The only time you really need to be careful is during flower and like I said before it's best to keep the dark period constant at 12 hours from lights off to lights on. The reason being that the part of the plant that is triggers into flower by the 12/12 cycle is the meristem and what it sense isn't the length of the light period but rather the length of the dark period.

So if the dark period stays a constant 12 hours even if the light period as a result is one hour shorter or longer (depending on if it's the start or the end of DST) then the plant won't notice any difference really. On the other hand if the plant senses the dark period being 11 hours or 13 hours for one day (again depending on what part of DST it is). Then there is a chance it could notice that time change and be effected. That being said plants look more at consistent trends in the light/dark cycle more then they do at one off events. So if you change the timer to best match your routine as the gardener and that means one day the plant experiences a one hour change in the dark period that's most likely not going to be enough to make any real difference. Remember, in nature the plant is sensing a gradual change of a few minutes each day and it's some point between 11 hours and 45 minutes of darkness and 12 hours of darkness when the plant switches to flower. It's not like it's sitting there with a stop watch waiting for the night that is exactly 12 hours before it switches all at once.. Again though when it comes to indoor growing if you maintain a constant 12 hour period of dark then it should never be an issue.

Couple more weeks in the UK. 27/3
I don't move my timers. Sometimes the extra hour is nice, at either end of the day. I have picked a schedule that works without adjustment. Adjusting myself to this can be a bit odd though.
