Day 74: Harvest sour diesel + plushberry?

It's day 74 of bloom for both sour diesel and plushberry. They're under 400W HPS and some LEDs. Based on what I read, the plush harvest is overdue, and today is about on-time for the sour.

On the one hand, using a handheld microscope, although most pistils are oragny, I've seen only few amber-ing trichs - and that only as of this week. On the other hand, notwithstanding the 10+ weeks, the trichs on most buds don't show amber-ing.

The buds on each look pretty good. The foliage on the sours has been getting dry and crispy. The foliage on the plush still looks healthy.

Here are shots of the sour and plush, in that order:

I know the pics aren't great; but I wanted at least to indicate how dry / healthy the foliage is. (There are crispy leaves hanging off the sour, and even sticking out of the buds. I have fine-tuning to do...)

Anyway, I'm thinking I should harvest about now. But I don't want to cut too soon if they're not ready. What do you think?

Thanks...

needs decent pics, tops, middle, whole plant, leaves

did yuo check trichomes on the calyx or random spots, most people just look for "a amber" instead of waiting till calyxses?calyxi? (Calyx or calyce (plural "calyces"), from the Latin calyx which itself comes from the Ancient Greek κάλυξ (kálux) meaning "husk" or "pod") ok calyces, have went from clear to non clear, it takes longer than the leaves do (more exposed to outside, rh, temp, uv)\
pull of the dead leaves at least, it will only get messy if you dont

Thanks for the response, HuffnPufferfish.

I checked trichomes in random spots, including calyces. Here are some more pics, again showing (i) the more dried sour diesel and (ii) the still-healthier looking plushberry:

Harvest time? Pistil - trich close-up pics...

Okay, here are some better shots, taken with a macro lens. I'm afraid I can't get any closer with that lens, but here are two of the sour diesel, and two of the plushberry:

Thanks for any feedback...

Anyone?

I'm toying with harvesting today, which is Day 75 of bloom.

I'm unfortunately of no help. On first grow now, but I have some Sour D seeds to start eventually, so just wondering if you've had any problems with it thus far? Looks like you'll get some good buds out of it. Good Luck!:)

Dude, one of your plants is dead.. have you noticed that?

That plant needs to be harvested ASAP (preferably yesterday, or a week ago!)

It's still too difficult to see the trichomes' color properly, even though that's an awesome lens.

You need to wait until the trichomes are cloudy and slighly brown, definitely not clear.

But as far as I can see, they're definitely ready.

I've cut them down. The foliage on the diesels was crispy; but the buds are sticky and soft - drying now. The plushberry was great all around.

Thanks for the replies!

Did you intentionally dry out the Sour D, or was it a pain in the neck the entire time you were growing it?

I didn't intentionally dry it out. It was just fussier than the plush.

Don't draw too many conclusions from this grow, though: It's a new grow area, and I'm still dialing it in. I know people with lots of sour-diesel luck. I've had great outdoor SD. Also, my light's a 400W HPS, which might be a factor in how my diesel turned out. (Again, it wasn't for plush, though.)

Good luck, man.
