Thanks...I'd say maybe 10 days or so. I tried a "sample" already and its good now, just gonna wait for the trichs to turn amber.

What is DeepWreck?? I wish I knew which TW cut I have. I got it from the old CCG club in San Diego, maybe somebody can tell us.

The light is a 430w HPS. The nutes I used in veg are called "Cutting Edge Nutrients." Its a SoCal company I believe. Also B'cuzz Growth Stimulator. For Flowering I used Advanced Nutrients Sensi Bloom 2 Part and Greenfuse Bloom Stimulator additive. That's it...

DeepWreck is a cross of Tom Hills Deep Chunk IBL afghani with a Trainwreck (forgot which clone) by Richrad Williams Seedcompay.

Cant wait to see some harvest pic.

Do what ya want..BUT... IMO, the wreck just ISN'T finished until 70 days of flowering has passed!!! The S1 I grew out was called for at 56 days but when I sampled it at that time...it was NOT the killer I was EXPECTING... so I let it go more...many peeps will agree... 70 days is the number!!

Don't cheat yerself out of some awsome smoke mang... be patient and WAIT on it...

ANY sativa dom will not put on the power until VERY NEAR the end of it's NATURAL lifespan. ... that's just the way sativas roll, my man...

I just happen to be doing a second run and I prolly will go 75 this time... just to see what happens... it was DAMN good at 70... :D

I don't mean to be a dick but we're talking the real Trainwreck, there is no S1 for the arcata cut--which is what I think lordamercy is lucky enough to have.

I would just harvest when trichromes are cloudy but my guess is that will happen before 70 days. Here's some I harvested around day 60ish, a little overdone if you ask me.



From another run I did with it...



If you refer to some of DJ Jay's old posts on the TW, you'll notice that he used to harvest it around day 46, and he swore by it, saying the strength is a lot stronger (although, that's way too early for my taste).

Best of luck finishing those off, they look great!

Don't mean to contradict you, growmatic but everything I have read on the S1's is that it what the Arcata cut that Orgnkid hit with the STS. Additionally, I have read many posts saying that over 90% of the TW cuts out there are the Arcata cut as opposed to the other two more obscure genotypes of TW. So, the likelyhood that the S1's are, indeed, the Arcata cut is quite high.

I have some S1's that have just popped so I have been researching this pretty extensively. Further, there have been a couple of grows here (can't remember whose they were) but from appearance alone, several people "in the know" have stated that the S1 buds look nearly identical to the clone buds. Just my :2cents:

jojos tw s1s have come close from what ive seen too


the arcata clone is s1 seed sprouted in the early 90s by the HPRC people.

I have JOJO's S1... it simply does NOT get real good until at LEAST 66 days... it's a punchless Judy before that...

...btw, that's GROWN in DIRT... organically. I have NO IDEA what, if any, difference a hydro-grow makes....

I respect your opinion but I maintain that real, arcata trainwreck is only available in clone form. Trainwreck was created as a result from a conglomerate of breeding, probably involving many years of un-documented work. My point is it would be VERY difficult to re-create TW (unless the original seeds somehow become available). At this point you could only outcross, backcross, or inbreed the original clone--it might have traits from the arcata cut but it's still not the real deal, and I've grown both varieties. It's like OG Kush; sure someone made S1's but they're still different, genetically speaking... But anyways I don't mean to turn this into a discussion on the genetics of TW, sorry lordamercy if I stole your show.

Do you know what an "S1" is?? ...if so, why do you think it "can't be done" unless "original" seeds are produced???

Please, let the debate begin! I def. want to hear all the different opinions.

I remember Dr. Jay's posts from OG about TW being done at day 46, and I've also heard from others who let it go much longer claiming a better high and yeild. VERY different opinions.

This is my 3rd. time growing out this strain, and MY opinion is that it works out great letting it go for 8 weeks. Sort of a happy medium I suppose.

Maybe I'll let one of the plants go longer, just to see for myself. That's the only way to know for sure, right? If I do decide on that I will let you all know how it turns out. Thanks all for the input...

It's called "chemical selfing"... it does NOT involve inducing herminess to the strain.

You simply "salt" a branch w/ some chemical (someone will know more about the details than I do..) and the plant will produce SEEDS without a trace of herminess...

That is what Jojo's S1 is..... a SELFED Arcata clone...reportedly THE Arcata clone...

There are experts on the technique around... put up a question in advanced topics forum and you should get someone who knows EXACTLY how it's done...
