Day 41

I am starting to get alot more young undergrowth. I am in day 41 of veg of northern lights. They are in 2-3 gallon pots I still need to take cuttings and do a final transplant in 4-5 gallon final pots for flower.
Should i let the undergrowth develop for for potential bud sites? I was planning on taking cuttings this week? I wanted to make sure the cuttings will survive before i transplant and put them into flower. Let them go for another few weeks?

What strain ya got there? Has it preflowered?
What would you do with the undergrowth but take a cut and let the rest go or
take more than one cut? On one hand, you have one other bud on the plant! On the other you have another plant! Its a delima fo sho!

well, i think i need to take cuttings from the lower branches? Its showing no sign of sex yet and its northern lights. Its still under 24 hour lighting using 400w mh lights. I would like to take 3 cuttings from each plant, keep them separate and wait for the plants to show sex so i can either grow or discard the cuttings I took.

For sure it is showing preflowers at 42 days.... check the nodes on the stem, starting from 6 and going up...

Take your cuttings from the lower branches... and if you want more budsites you must top the plant or supercrop the top to let the side shoots catch up a little. I'd say some LST would help but the plant may be too large already...

400w is a lot to run 24/7!

why is 400w alot to run 24/7? 400w running 24/7 isn't nothing.....isn't that about average for people who veg 24/7? i've always vegged with a 400mh 24/7 with no problems.....i have alot of friends that veg 24/7 with their 1000w'ers.

nice nl's! is this a cutting you got gifted or is it from a seed bank? i always like to see some old school nl...great strain!

I bet if you took a good magnifying glass you can see preflowers on those plants,without a doubt.Remember you dont have to wait for an actual pistil,thats a sex organ not a preflower.A teardrop,pointy or cone shaped preflower is smooth and female,a male preflower normally has a rougher outer shell like a head of lettuce and is rounder normally

ok.. i will do that.. I need to look some stuff up to know what to look for. I do see growth but I thought it was new leaf/shoot growth.

Look around the stamens or the 2 pointy things on each side of the main stalk,I think its called stamen ll thats not it probably but you know what I'm talking about,the pointy thingies

After you sex a few different strains you'll no longer need to reference the chart... you'll know what you're looking at.

Hi T2U- Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Just a preference to let my HIDs (and power meter) rest a few hours. I probably didn't need to mention it in this thread but weed makes me do funny things.

yeah i hear ya, it definatly isn't a bad idea to let your lights and meter rest....i always tell a couple of my friends they are crazy to be veggin 24/7 under a couple 1000w'ers. way to big of an electric bill for me.

They are from Joey Weed... I grew it from seed. I only know of one person on another forum who grew this strain from this breeder. From what I can tell I have 4 females and one male.. But still not exactly sure.
