FLOROMITE is ineffective against these kind of mites (broads/russets) it does not work ,it's not even rated for those kinds of mites AFAIK

Yeah, I assumed I had the garden variety spider mites because they can range in colour from red/orange - brown/black.

Thanks for the info Hammer.

Mine look like tiny black spots to the naked eye. Under a loupe they look like small dark amber ticks almost.

Pretty sure it is in fact spider mites. Do you agree?

Either way, I seem to be winning the fight. My only remaining clone is pushing some nice healthy new growth, and the bigger girls are looking better today.

2 spotted mites are the most common. These are really easy to spot. You must get a loupe. I have had these. Never had Broads or Russets I know of. I'm very good with IPM nothing new enters here without getting treated multiple times. Its been 6 years since I have seen any living mites.

Broad mites are very difficult to see even with magnification. Size of these are 0.20mm. Russet mites look like worms.. These can be seen with a loupe. Any time you see plant damage the 1st thing to look for are pests...

Do they eat roots aswell? Outdoors I used to get these worms in the soul that would eat roots. I always thought they were gnat larvae. I always pre treated and treated with gnatrol. Worked like a charm for those and gnats trying to get in the soil
Thanks in advance

There are pests that eat roots yes. I've always called 'em root aphids, not sure of the scientific name for them.

Ive not just heard of them...I've had them. They took down a mom tent of 22-ish plants.

Mine weren't worms though, they looked like aphids...just never turned into flyers. I'd see them coming in and out of the dirt like it was a door. When I pulled a couple plants, the roots were infested with them.

I lost everything to those little jerks. My fault, I got lazy with checking my plants...but they were destructive little suckers.
