Darkness before harvest?

So...... I havent had to battle a crop this hard in a long time. And the final straw was nanners and nuts appearing in week 7. So Im going to power flush for a week and harvest a little early. This time Im going to try the lights out for 48 hours, and brought in an additional dehumidifier to drop the humidity as much as I can.
My question is.... I thought plants convert sunlight to energy and with no light, how will this help with resin production. I thought the plants sleep in the dark, thats why my co2 shuts off when the lights go out.
Anyone with any input on this would greatly be appreciated. Im just a newbie seeking knowledge

its important not to overload yourself or your plants for the first few grows, and I think you have been pushing it, growing weed or any plant, is an enjoyable experience, the only guys I know who don't enjoy this, are the commercial guys strapped to the bank, and panicking to avoid foreclosure, ...avoid this scene, and yes enjoy this part of your life..

You got it right, no real energy is made during lights out, but like with humans, much 'energy' is shuffled around, carbohydrates stored in the rootzone are pushed to the leaves and sugars are 'relocated' to valuable and much needed cell growth..

You may follow the sheep in attempting to 'trick' hormones, but these babes have been with you for some time, see them as pets, like a cat, dog, or frog, give them a good death,
for this reason go the other way,
Give them 3x8 hours of good UV(A+B) just to finish off them trics to your satisfaction

Yeah.... I'm guilty of wanting the meds that will create super envy among frends :) The first time I did it was flawless. Nothing fancy, just lights air and nutes. It seems like the more I try and "enhance" the grow enviroment and process the more I get it wrong. So I jus reduced the number of plants, and just stripped down all the gizmos in my room. Im thinking it will be a good run. And outdoor is going spectacular. Thanks again for the advice. I forgot I was Just a hobbyist for minute there :)
