Initially all seeds were popped into a glass of of well water (0.2EC/7.8PH) and left to sit 24 hours. DISCLAIMER It’s important when doing this to make sure that seeds and water are acclimated to room temperature. I do not suggest taking seeds out of the refrigerator or freezer and putting them directly in water nor do I suggest using water that’s either cold or warm (room temp is best in my experience).

After soaking seeds in a glass of water for 24 hours I dumped the majority of the water out of the glass and transferred the seeds with the remaining water onto a paper towel.

For new seeds I like to start out in a solo cup. It is important to provide drainage since solo cups are water tight. The easiest way I found for prepping a bunch of solo cups is to use a half inch drillbit to drill a drainage hole in the center of cups. When doing this you can do multiple cups at a time but I find doing more than 5 cups at a time risks having uneven drainage holes.

Once I have prepped the solo cups I fill them with a organic soilless mix. I prefer to use peat moss-based products such as pro mix or sunshine #4. Today we’ll be using pro mix MP, this has become my personal favorite soilless mix for starting seedlings! When filling the solo cups I leave approximately 1/2” of space at the top to make watering easier without overflowing.

Pro mix MP is a kind of new potting mix compared to HP and BX. I agree with you Pro-Mix is a good soil-less mix. I look forward to seeing how well your Promix MP works in the cups. Are you using RO water with this grow? 😎

For sure! I used to run pro mix HP before the MP came available. I am extremely fortunate and have a well that produces water at 0.2 EC. That said, I use water directly from the tap 👍

Seeds were transferred immediately from paper towel into pro mix filled solo cups. I make an impression with my index finger up to the first knuckle deep as shown below prior to placing seeds in the medium. After that, I just pop the seed in the medium and lightly cover it. Easy does it. 24 hour soak in plain water then straight to soilless media.

About 4 days after planting pre-soaked seeds into solo cups, little seedlings began to rise through the top of the media. I am maintaining a temperature of 75-85 degrees (F) and a relative humidity of 60-70%. I add plain well water (0.2EC/7.8ph) as needed to keep media moisturized roughly between 40-80% moisture content.

I like what you got going on. My cross Marcella is Kings Banner XIII from Dark Horse best mom I had crossed with the best mom OG-18 fem I had at the time. This was almost 10 years ago. I am still running seeds every year of them. I have about 30 seeds left of her. I have passed them out to friends and family and people I have met over the years. Good luck growmie, I am pulling up a chair for your run.

Man that sounds like some 🔥! Ive heard great things about those OG-18 fems (never ran any myself). I love me some OG and any Hindu Kush type cultivars. Thanks for sticking around I appreciate you 👍👍

Week 1 Seedlings -

Howdy herbody. The first week of growing the seedlings has gone well for us! This is definitely one of the most delicate stages during plants life. We had one of 16 seeds that did not emerge beyond the surface of the promix. All other seeds germinated fine and showed themselves within 5 days of planting. Unfortunately, this morning I managed to snap one of our seedlings when checking the roots… There is one seedling that is clearly the runt. For now I’m gonna leave everything alone and see what happens. Based on the routes I’m seeing we’ve only got about another week in these solo cups.

The seedlings pictured last week have been up-potted from there solo cups into 2.5 gallon 9x9 square pots.

9x9 pots were 50% filled with a homemade supersoil mix consisting of:

8 BAGS (12 ft.³) Fox Farm Ocean Forest,
50 Lbs -Locally sourced, double screened loam
3 Lbs - Coast of Maine, buds and blooms
3 Lbs - Build-a-soil, craft blend (amendments)
2.5 Lbs - NutriGrow Organics, chicken manure
200 grams - Dynomyco, microbe inoculant
1 Cup - Pulverized garden lime

The remainder of 9x9 pots was filled to 1” from the top using Coast of Maine “Bar Harbor Blend” organic potting soil.

1st round of seedling’s have been growing well. Moisture level is being maintained between 30-70% by adding well water as needed. At this stage of growth I do pH adjust my well water between 6.3-6.8 pH. I really like the pH Down made by Alchemist, it does not raise your EC and its non-corrosive/non-hazardous.

2nd Round of seedlings are also doing well! All seeds emerged from promix/solo-cups and moisture is being maintained between 40-80% using plain well water (0.2EC/7.8pH).

Well this really sucks… Out of the first round of 14 seeds, half (7) of them are auto flowering and there are visible pollen sacks 😳😖😡 Conditions never changed from what is documented above. My light schedule has always been 18 hours on and 6 hours off using these means and methods and Ive never encountered this. The seedlings have not gotten root bound at all during this grow. I just don’t get it, these things are semi auto flowering and I’m not sure what my next move is…
