dark roots?

these sc99's were growing just fine in a bubbler. i just took these into 12/12 a week or so ago, and 3 days ago changed the nutes to a flowering mix of sensibloom 2 pt, b-52, bigbud, carboload, a dash of revive, voodoo juice (kinda old), pirhana powder to the tune of 1300ppm. now, look:

could it be bad nutes, a bad mixture of nutes, my bad breath????? ph was fine and i kept two plants in two different bubblers and fed them the same nute mixture.

I think I would pinch the growth back by 1/3 to 1/2. Switch to 18/6. Use veg nutes again at a low rate. Add hydrogen peroxide 3% daily at 1 teaspoon per gallon of water. Then procede to pray.

did and done, sprout, but it worries me not to know how it happened, so i can make sure it doesn't happen again.

the only thing i can think of is the old voodoo juice or the pirhana mixing it up...any other ideas guys???

If that first picture is the root system, then I'm sorry to say it berbes, but it appears you have a very diseased root system. It will take more than peroxide prayers to revive that plant.

More like a miracle imnsho.

why did you throw all that in the bucket anyway ?

I am a firm believer of less is more when it comes to running hydroponics, especially in a dwc situation. All that additive crap adds up to an unbalanced mess with an out of control microbe soup choking out your roots and causing disease to run rampant. In dwc this is amplified ten fold imho, especially if the res is running too warm....which is why I have major trouble believing you had it running at "60'ish degrees f".

So I guess its the "ish" that did em in ? Do you keep a thermometer in the res ?
Is your airpump(s) sitting directly in the HID light and pumping heated air ?

ps...btw... Yea I can go along with the old bactors you used having something to do with the res getting polluted, but geez why all that excess crap involved. Imnsho, buying and using so many additive snake oils in the res is really only doing the guy at the growstores wallet a bigger favor, than it can offer your plants.

in the dwc you shouldnt need more than 900ppm or so even that can be too much. what ppm did you come up from? less = more in dwc, ps if it falls under 65f in the res it may be headin towards too cold. 65-70 is perfect !

well there is a way of saving them you must first wash them really good.

then a water / h202(3 tsp pergallon) bath for about 3 days changing it everyday. the point is to keep the infection undercontrol while growing a new root system.

like with mine the roots were dead the plant had already taken the shock. so i waited for new roots them simply hacked off the dead roted part.
then keep her in water for 2 days with 1 tsp per gallon h202..

check 2 times a day change water when needed. if lucks on ur side u should be able to start half nutes in 3 to 4 days after cliping the dead roots. with in a week you should see new better growth..

mine happened in the flowering stage the bud was alittle smaller than most but otherwise good smoke..
