Dark room louvers?

I was thinking about using a couple of 8"x8" louvers for a passive air intake on my cab. My question is are they light proof and is the airflow good enough for this application?

I got 2 8" darkroom louvers and they are light proof. They are kinda expensive though I think around 50 bucks. If you dont cut the hole for the louvers exactly the proper size they could leak light around the edges where they meet with the cab but that can be fixed with caulking/tape.

I would definitely go with the louvers, they offer excellent air flow and keep my cab temps close to ambient. Just make sure you get two if your exhausting with a Vortex type fan.

yes they def keep out light.. they are like 25$ for the 8x8 square one and they work like a charm

I just bought some louvers for my cab (from Adorama), got 2 8x8" ones. Just be sure to get a good clean cut for the hole.. I still had to use some black tape and caulk around the edges, but they ARE light proof otherwise. Get pretty good ventilation too.
