Damn! That was a close one

Hiya,,,,
Went into grow number one on Thursday night,, lamps came on at six pm and when I arrived it was around ten pm,,,,
After entering room I got a whiff of that unforgettable burning smell and when I looked at my contactor which has a mains plug and timer plug ,, which both plug into the wall,,the mains plug was melting and it would seem the contactor box had become loose and allowed humidity or damp in,,
Very scary,, off to the hydro shop today for a new contactor,,,
Pics are of the melting contactor and my new purchase,,my old contactor was for 4 600w lamps and was a maxibright and not a Chinese cheapie,,,,,s2

You have 4 600w on the same circuit and it says 13 amp max? Is that right? No wonder it melted. But it seems to me that a breaker should have tripped. Careful. At approx 5.5 amps of 120v, x4 that's about 22 amps on a 13 amp circuit. Yeah it'll melt. But I don't know shit. Get good info before proceeding. Ask Rives, resident sparky. Good luck. -granger
