4x8 is a little tight for 3x600, thats how mine are set up...3 lights per table..a little tight=heaps of shared light. the plants grow great where the light from one lamp shares space with the light from the other lamp. ive never worked in a box, just rooms...

irie: 32sqft 1800w = 56w pre sqft? thats not overkill? Id rathe spend the $$ then run 2 1000w....and I was planning on running the lights in sequance...only 1 600 for the first few weeks of veg and start turning on more lights after the plants grow...

ya ya, i certainly agree, go w/ 3 600w rather than 2 1kw..i switched my tables to that and i am quite satisfied. its tight in a good way i guess, maybe good over kill. i do find however that the air cooled shades i have seen are really either for 400w or 1kw bulbs. i have silverstars and kooltubes by the same company as silverstar theyre 6" though. im gonna look up the cool sun xl
