Aloha, was wondering if I should p.h. my water that i use in the chiller. Reason I'm wondering is cause the fog comes into contact with my plants. It makes sense to do it just for that reason. But is it necessary, will the plants benefit?
Yes and yes. The way the chiller fog spreads out in our room is quite interesting. The fans blow the "mist/fog" whatever u wanna call it over the whole grow. Because plants breath using their stomata i can feel that they are absorbing the fog. I wanna say thanks for the info from those that replied. This chiller is no way gonna make or break us. I am just interested cause it lowered our temps and put humidity on point in our room. This is just a test.If we don't need it we wont use it , if by chance we do then we will. I am just curious if our man made humidity has an effect, that's all. Seems that it does cause growth is accelerated, but what do i know? Maybe it's the fert program they are on, maybe it's the genetics. I feel like it is all of the above working together, either way I wanna get to the bottom of this.
If you're talking about one of those desktop air coolers/humidifiers that blow cool, humid air via ice and water, then you better need it! Cannabis grows best when the relative humidity range is from 40 to 60 percent. As with temperature, consistent humidity promotes healthy, even growth. Relative humidity level affects the transpiration rate of the stomata. When humidity is high, water evaporates slowly. The stomata close, transpiration slows and so does plant growth. Water evaporates quickly into dryer air causing stomata to open, increasing transpiration, fluid flow and growth.
