Medical marijuana users in the District may not have to go to a clinic or a doctor’s office to get their dose; they may be able to go into their backyard.

D.C. Council is thinking of adding a provision to the new medical marijuana bill that would allow some users to grow plants for their own use. They’d likely be limited to two plants per home.

City leaders are still ironing out a number of details about legalized medical marijuana -- a decade-old issue that just recently became relevant. Washingtonians voted to legalize marijuana back in 1998, but it wasn’t until last December that Congress approved D.C.’s 2010 budget. That allowed the District to legalize marijuana."

'bout time. they won't give us statehood or representation on the hill so we should be able to grow and smoke if nothing else.
This is the DC's city council's way of flipping off those on the hill by doing this. Love it.

we predicted it would be legal in 10 years back in 96, its 2010 and its barely tolerated in 15 states. i think we have a long way to go. it would go a lot faster if people would stop hiding the fact that they like weed and grow it. if everyone announced their stance of weed publicly that shit would end tomorrow. what are they gonna do arrest everyone in the country?

Shit a decade before the 10 + 10... Carter was on national tv advocating to change the federal laws... as President... Obama isn't near the man in character & integrity as Carter... our last best hope. Doubt this is happening in the next 7 folks...
