cutting only potential buds at lollipopping?

So I was wondering, what happens if we lollipop only the little bud sprouts but keep the whole plant bushy? will the energy from the lower leafs get to the top buds or what happens there?

good question, im watching, i hope i could get pure sativas to shine more in the northern latitudes,

Depends on the strain, but if you let them get bushy down low then the buds down there are kind of useless. They tend to be light weight, popcorn like, with no density to them and less of what you really want. Not getting good light might be the big reason why. Keeping the bottoms cleaned out promotes better ventilation, health and like you say, puts the growing effort where you want it.
