Cutting clones from 7 days in FLOWER

G

was wondering if it was bad to cut clones from a scrog after 7 days in flower? Didnt trim prior to flower and there are just too many shoots underneath her that are hardly getting light!

whats ur input guys.

You can do it,just reveg them out for awhile then flower them. The only negative besides the added time normally that I've encountered is when trying to perpetuate a pheno for a good length of time after cuttings were taken after the "change".Another words,I wouldnt bother taking clones from these clones after you vegged them out and so forth and so on.Thats where I've run into problems like very "pistilly" plants in veg many with single and three bladed fan leaves. After you take these for a couple "cycles" believe me you'll just drop it and start over.Take all cuttings before 12/12 starting with the original seedplant and from each clone thereafter and you wont have these degradation problems.I did it both ways and currently I have a blockhead pheno over two years old whose cuttings are nearly pistil free when I take them and they all have normal fan structure, not thyose "funky fans" lol

its fine, done it dozens of time when I pruned some nice undergrowth. whats wierd is there is a myth that it takes long for them to root, but the fastest rooting clone I ever had 5 days in bubble cloner was a skinny cutting from 2 week flowering plant and lower growth at that, 4 nodes

Mr. Nevermind

if the plant is alive you can pull clones. I have pulled clones 4 weeks into flower before . No worries

hybridek its certainly not a myth bro,for the most part cuttings taken after 12/12 will take longer to root, that doesnt mean there wont be an exception along the way.I dont remember anyone ever seriously saying cuttings taken after 12/12 root faster or as fast as a good "veg" cutting taken before 12/12.I know what my experience has been, and its the same as 99% of the people who respond on the subject,it takes longer and is sometimes more difficult to root a cutting taken in flower.

I would root them if you dont want the popcorn buds at the bottom.Give the mother a good shot of high phosphorous bloom fert a few hours or the night before taking cuttings, the P is really helpful in rooting them.I do this anyway when taking cuttings. If you look at the NPK of Olivia's products like her cloning solution or gel,the NPK is high in phosphorous doubling N just like a good bloom fert.

It just occurred to me if you're not familiar with Olivia's cloning solution or gel I bet that didnt make a lot of sense to you lol.The point is its good to give the donor plant a shot of bloom fert it works good from experience and reading cloning literature

While I agree that it is a widespread belief I am doing another test. I cloned some prune branches about 7 days into flower as well as some tops that were vegging...so we'll see the results. I chopped 12 of each...

Believe me I have heard it before but some of us just like to experiement and see if it's old wives tales or the written in stone truth. One fact remains = IT TAKES LONG TO GET A FLOWERING CLONE BACK TO VEG STATE. The flowering clone that rooted in 5 days is still funky as hell with it's foliage but it is growing fast and strong

yea skeletor i never used olivias but i will be using sumthing high in Phosphorous, i have fox farm ferts so i will be using tiger bloom instead of growbig!?!

we'll see how it goes.

hybridtek...i too will experiment with it but will be taking clones from 8 days is flower, then sum in 9 or 10 days in flower after i give it sum bloom ferts like skeletor said. once i get my cam back i can post sum pics but will def post my findings.

thnx again -simple man-
