Cuts in postal service budget. are we more secure???

Just curious.. they have shut down my cities major post office.. mail to come from another distant bigger city 80 miles away.. Does anyone think that could lead to somewhat better security in seed shipment??
Just curious what your thoughts are

ive read that most of the scrutiny is at the port of entry... ie where it enters the country... so no prob not any safer really... just my guess.

The post office employs it's own police force, called the postal inspectors.
These are the guys that do controlled deliveries and raids resulting from international packs that were seized by customs.

I bet that not a single mail pig gets laid off.
The Nazis are never effected by cut backs.

Mail pig is funny, they have a lot of "power" like us marshalls. I bet volume goes up at some offices but dont know how much that affects overall safety concerns. Seeds are pretty safe IMO just send them to an addy other than your own...NS

not to self, never use the word "us" in front of the word "marshalls", if referring to the united states, use U.S.

The emotional reaction from reading "us marshalls" is not a good one.

Thanks Sam I am usually not a lazy typer but that is a proper mistake and thanks for the call out...Reading it back does sound bad. To clarify I have no ties with any badge carrying anybody. My friend hooked up with a girl who was talking big about her job as a U.S. Postal inspector for an hour straight before they got buzzed and left. She had compared the two but its irrelevant...My seeds arrive safe in Cali and I hope everybody's do too, thats my new years wish! NS

not effecting me yet, just got a delivery from the fuzzy one himself this morning. wasn't tampered in any way. this city is too big anyway, if there were cutbacks this is that city 80 miles away that would process your mail.

i saw a mail pig last week while driving past a random post office in san francisco, he was parking a 2011 white ford focus, government plates.

I would think that fewer post offices means more work for someone else. People as a rule just want to get through their day at work. I have always had seeds sent right here to the house/grow.
