looking for help as first time grower. growing in coco using canna nutes hand watering and caring for plants all day as have lots of time ya hoo, have a tent bought as package with 600w hps and also purchased a 300w dual spectrum recently as plants are so big and so thick thought i needed to get some light around lower to midbranches. had probs in first few weeks with heat but that all good ph all good infact since the heat prob all gone good.

what im trying to find out after reading so many dif opinions is that 2 of the plants 1 ww 1hg are huge i think this is down to the fact they veged about 3 wks longer than others and after bending tops and tying and abs loads of new bud sites have shot up, my concern is bottom/mid buds they are getting a boost from 300w cfl but the area is so very thick, SHOULD I CLEAR SOME LEAVES TO MAKE WAY FOR LIGHT OR LEAVE WELL ALONE AND KEEP TYING BACK AS I AM DOING, so many say cut back others say let em grow. if cut back is what is needed 1 is it to late (4 wks into flowering) 2 what to remove and at what rate? and please any other advice you have. these girls are well over 6 ft if they were straight and have spent so much time and effort that i really dont want to fckup or spoilt what is hopefully coming to me.

many thanks for great reading and information.

you could try tucking and tying if you cant decide, bend the leaf stems to allow the light penetration to come through then tie it in position, that way you dont need to cut if you dont want to, you get the benefit and hopefully a boost for your budsites.

I'm with Zeltar on this. Try not to cut any of the large fan leaves if you can help it. Any little leaves that are covering lower budsites are IMO fair game. They can be trimmed and cut also. Some people lollipop there plants removing the bottom third of vegitation to great effect. Try out different methods and see what works for you.

go into the hydro section and read the thread on defoliation...ive done it and it helped get lower budsites up where i wanted them but you should have done this earlier into flower but you can still benefit from it now...but if your plant is dense and thick id remove lower budsites/leafs to help bulk up the top budsites that are getting all the light :)
