custom piece blowers...where can I find one?

I am interested in purchasing a custom piece... I was wondering if anyone knows of a website/person/whatever that does custom pieces? I would obviously like to see some previous work of theirs. I am requesting either a bubbler or a bong. Any info would be much appreciated, thanks everyone!

The best option. Poke around, you'll find someone. Or a local headshop- depending on if they have house blowers/friends or just use wholesalers

headshops are the middlemen, chances are they won't make a custom for you or if they will it will be jacked up on the price factor.... i'd just say use glasspipes.org till you find the right person, not 100% fool proof through.

You can also check with your local Craigslist if one is available and post an ad saying you need the assistance of a local glassblower.

i have heard of people doin this, sounds like a great tactic if you arn't scared of showing your face as a pipe maker to the public... although i must advise, if you are going to buy a pipe from this guy... make sure it is ANNEALED in a kiln, if they let the piece cool down and just give it to you after they make it, not only will it be weak but it will break rediculously easy... so make sure it is annealed!

also, if using craigslist.... use keywords like lampworking, borosilicate glass, or torch work to describe the glassblower you are lookin for... if you just say you are lookin for a glassblower you might find a lot of soft glass artists... and we don't smoke out of soft glass, we use borosilicate (pyrex).

I have one. Dont spend any money on one. I traded a nugget for mine. It is fun to look at and has great novelty, but the water gets stuck in it and it is next to impossible to clean. Still fun though! I'd take pictures, but I gave it to someone as a birthday gift (pipes are the only gift I would give someone used).

I think most people would be surprised to see how common it is for headshops to have very close connections with local blowers. I still think this is your best bet.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I am making a trip up to the headshop tomorrow morning to check it out. And I agree about the heady pieces on glasspipes.org, some of them are unbelievable to look at but I can see how much of a pain in the ass they might be to clean. Thats why I'm going to opt for a tube!

yo dawgs yall trippin, check out Kind Creations if youre ever in northern Colorado. they can blow anything you can think of, its the best showroom ive ever been in (they separate the showroom and the blowing shop with a huge glass window). ask for brandon, the owner, if you're gonna get a custom...he makes the sickest bongs and attachments and he fixed my blue bub brand new! they have really good prices too!

it has a floating opal under the faceted magnifier which pics do
