Custom larger cool tubes?

Hey guys old kung pow coming out, was on og for years, glad i found this place to hang out.

I am designing a new grow room and i need to solve one problem.

i need to find a supplier of cool tube glass that can make the glass 8" dia. and 6 ' long.

I find that the airflow is just to confined with 6" wide cool tubes.

any idea's???

Easy cheap solution.........

Go to any Sporting Goods store and purchase a replacement globe for a "Coleman" style camping lamp. They come in all sizes, are designed to handle high-heat and pass maximum light. And, they're very cheap, usually less than 10 bucks U.S.

All of the lantern globes I've seen are MUCH too small to be used as a cooltube...like 5" diameter x 5" tall...are you talking about something else Pipedream?

Here's a place with 8"x59" pyrex tubes but no mention of price...

But is there no companys out there that can manufacture a 8" dia 6' long cool tube?

sure beats conecting 2 smaller tube together.

they carry 8 and 10" scedule 40 pvc. should work fine...

you can make them.. diy... look for larger diameter tubes made out of simax at like a glass shop these were 160 for both and are like 5 feet long. Made them both for about 200 even..

Dunno about that clear PVC pipe The Dopest...

"The temp range is 33°F to 140° F. It is not UV resistant"

If I remember correctly, bulbs run about 350-400°f after they've warmed up...which might pose a slight fire risk :wink:

oouch thanks Sandman! i figured a 8" would be plenty big enough to keep cool but those temps are quite high.

checked out your link, unfortunally i do not think it would work, because they have to low a temp range, but the killer was they are NOT uv resistant...

i think that the hps lights would chew them jp pretty soon.

Surely there are other people out there that said " 6 inches is too small" and have searched for hot tubes that are 8" or larger... ohh and for my next project i need 6 feet!
