Custom cab question

So I got a question. Just a thought looking at my spare light.

I have a 400w in a vented hood. I was wondering what If I built a box so the exhaust holes on the hood were actually outside of the box. And then run the intake and exhaust across from eachother across the glass on the light.

The light wouldn't be able to be adjusted but I would be able to built a smaller box very compact and still have some very nice wattage. Like a 24x24x36" box. Am I crazy with this concept?

Lol I scrapped that idea and just built a perpetual closet 28" width X 32" length and about 45" of height. Got up to about 85 degrees but built a vent from a window and since outside temps are -3 right now brings room down to 72 lights on 63 lights off

Mid 40'sF where I am, downright balmy compared to -3F, lol.

45" height is nice, I have 30", which is tall for some micro grows here on icmag.

Right now I have 5 autos finishing up in flower room.

Just started: chocolate kush, vision blue power, WW, Barney blue cheese. And have a mother plant and two clones from a private strain

i have a 400w hps in a cool tube in a 2 foot wide by 3 foot long by 3 foot tall flowering chamber its in an attic with no insulation in winter i keep exhaust on low in summer high and i haven't had much trouble keeping it the environment in check
