Hey all,
I'm building some bigger undercurrent systems and have come to a point where I need to make a not so easy decision.
It's four 8 site RDWCs, undercurrent style.
If I used totes from W-Mart and all of the PVC stuff Snype recommends, it would be a lot more work to wrap the tubs in foil tape and drill and everything but it would save me about $1k.
I can order these buckets from current culture now, 13 gallons with 3" holes and their new 'spin-tight' bulkheads already installed (no more uniseals!!). If I got 32 of those and just custom cut the PVC to match my layout it would save a lot of time and possibly be less prone to busting leaks...
anyone have any thoughts? The only thing I can think of is that the w-mart totes are pretty thin, I imagine the current culture buckets are a lot sturdier.
Here are the CC buckets: http://hydrobuilder.com/drilled-13-gallon-module-w-2-3-bulkheads.html
And here is Snypes tutorial for those unfamiliar: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=267918
I want a sturdy system that won't spring leaks on me but obviously cheaper is a plus.
Thanks for reading!
