Current Cultures new bulkheads vs Snypes DIY design

Hey all,

I'm building some bigger undercurrent systems and have come to a point where I need to make a not so easy decision.

It's four 8 site RDWCs, undercurrent style.

If I used totes from W-Mart and all of the PVC stuff Snype recommends, it would be a lot more work to wrap the tubs in foil tape and drill and everything but it would save me about $1k.

I can order these buckets from current culture now, 13 gallons with 3" holes and their new 'spin-tight' bulkheads already installed (no more uniseals!!). If I got 32 of those and just custom cut the PVC to match my layout it would save a lot of time and possibly be less prone to busting leaks...

anyone have any thoughts? The only thing I can think of is that the w-mart totes are pretty thin, I imagine the current culture buckets are a lot sturdier.

Here are the CC buckets: http://hydrobuilder.com/drilled-13-gallon-module-w-2-3-bulkheads.html

And here is Snypes tutorial for those unfamiliar: https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=267918

I want a sturdy system that won't spring leaks on me but obviously cheaper is a plus.

Thanks for reading!

me, I would spend the extra on the new units, less work and water leakage is no fun. I like to build my own but would buy those culture buckets.

Really depends on what ur budget allows... since ur plannin 32 sites uc im sure there's quite n investment in the grow.,. Id drop the coin on the buckets they look solid , less worry bout leaks , no work puttin it together etc etc,... but it is pretty easy to do it yaself to... its ur money spend it however ya want either way ur good...

Thanks for the input! I decided to go for the CC buckets. So much less work, especially when I already have so much to set up in my rooms.

^^^ no they ain't cheap...
I see you have made your choice....but..

By buying a $75 bucket..your spending $2,240...just for buckets( & that's for$70 a bucket).... & you still haveta buy water pumps...air pumps & pvc...
I could be leaning toward Snypes system...cause I built one...& their nice...
But he showed a way to have a nice system..without paying hydro store prices..
Simply put... Your paying ALL that money.. So that you don't haveta drill holes in your bucket. Because other than than drilling holes...you're doing the same thing I had to do... Cut pvc.
But for my 8 site.. I paid $450, & that included my water pump & air pump.
It's your money.....ijs

P.s...you could always do a side by side...
My money is on Snypes system

Its more challanging to DIY but also more rewarding, get some McGyver going any one else planning do it yourself don't overpay for simple things. Im using litter buckets I pay for em anyways hold about 5 gallons but I will use a larger pump for water and use electrolysis for oxygen adding a chiller before its up and running. Only going for 18 site as numbers are my enemy. Veg One month LST and then blam, testing some new strains outdoors to see whats what. I don't like opinions on bud too varyed and I don't know your experiences. Curious? Growing out Wifi, Skywalker, Golden Goat, GSC , Gorilla G#4, Ghost og, Purple alien kush, Pre 98 Bubba, SFV og, white romulan, ecsd and fire alien kushI will test these for keepers.
