hi guys first of all, grats on excellent forum

i have this new baby, im concerned about leafs curling up, and the tips fallen down, i think it might be lack of water, but im not quite sure, as watering doesn't solve the problem completely although it seems to improve it a little.
Also the leaves feel a little crispy when i touch them.

If anyone can help get a proper diagnose

SOIL:
What STRAIN are you growing?northern Light#5
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?)seed
What is the age of your plants?2 weeks
How Tall are the plants?10 centimeters
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in?vegetative(24 hours lightining)
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc)can someone point me in the forum the difference between the two of them?not familiarized with them
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)0,8 liters
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)Bio Bizz All Mix,It consists of 20% sphagnum peat moss, 35% garden peat, 10% high quality organic Worm-Humus , 30% perlite and 5% Pre-Mix.
What Nutrient's are you using? How much of each with how much water? How Often? *Knowing the brand is very helpful*Not Yet
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"?still haven't got a ph tester, had a soil one but was not reliable
How often are you watering?used to be every 2 days, but im suspicious their getting dry too soon, so every day.
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding?not feeding yet, soil comes pre ferted with organic matter, lasts 3 weeks
What size bulb are you using?400 watts hps, son t agro
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity)around 60%
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range)Day 27º Night 32º
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.)Fan
Is the fan blowing directly at plants?Yes
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist?moist, drys a little in the night(closet closed, temperature up)
Is your water HARD or SOFT?couldn't check yet
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap? Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water?Tap water, left evaporating clohrine for 2 days, in grow room
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? No
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when?Definitely Not
Are plant's infected with pest's? dont see nothing flying around

thanks

you say you're watering every day? that sounds like it may be too much, the soil needs to dry out pretty well before watering. When the top couple inches feel dry the dirt on the bottom may still be saturated and giving more water will just hurt more. When you water does it take a good amount to create runoff or is there runoff after adding not that much water? Are any leaves yellowing?

no leaves are yellowing at all, they are a wealthy green.

also i check the weight of the pot and it seemsalmost as light as when theres no water after a day, water run offs very good in this soil, when i water it, it immediately lets some of it run off.

ah didn't notice you are using peat...it may be pH related then since you use tap and don't know the pH, if I used straight tap water from where I'm at it would probably kill em because it's so damn alkaline. If you don't want to spend $$ on a ph meter the liquid kits have worked for me, I'm no expert so hopefully someone else can chime in.

first of all thanks on the reply master.

i think u might be right i have been doing, some research with my water company and seems my tap water is rather alkaline, around 7,5
ill buy some ph strips to confirm this before doing anything.

now i have some doubts, does water temperature influence ph?
can i use lemon drops to lower my alkaline ph values? will it trouble the plant?

i suppose this water values should create me a lot more problems, than those im seeing, and the plant has been 2 weeks on this tap water.
u think my ph values are the only responsible for the curling of the leaves visible in the pics?

How close to that 400 you have them, they look a little heat stressed? You should not have to water them once a day maybe every 3rd day & just a light mist once daily. Leave the water out for only 24 hrs. I'd like to see some more perlite in the mix is your % right I don't see much in the mix. Lastly that mix may be a little hot for them, when were they put in there - straight from seed. I'd have them under floro's for a few weeks before the 400 not that they can't adapt. Better images without the yellow light. It appears to have some edge discolouring?

Its a pleasure to come here, and realize im always learning with u guys.
first im sorry for the pics, although i take them away from the light she still managed to screw them up, ill take some more in a couple hours they seem a little better now.

now replying to your doubts.
sirgrass - they are more than 40 inches away from the light, but as i said, they r in a closet and at night when i have to close the closet doors, it gets hot in there(i started with the 18 hour cycle now, so it should help with his problem, i did it tonight and they seemed to react good)

as for the perlite, i gave u the % directly from the producer of the dirt, and i trust them, the soil drains really good, and i dont think any oxygen is laking to the roots.
as for the soil being hot, i totally agree, when i got this all mix bag, i tried to get the light mix, but they didn't have, so i asked isn't this too much for new born babies? obviously they said it was good
i had this baby in the pics, already under fluoros for 3 days prior to buying the All Mix dirt(on some regular dirt),when i replanted her she was stuned by the change for 2 days, but i flushed the soil, and she reacted very good.

I didnt get so lucky with the rest of my babys, when ive changed them to dirt, most of them just got burned, the 2 that sprouted out of dirt, started flowering before having the first set of leaves, so u can see how badly stressed they were.
So one piece of advice for everyone dont use BioBizz All Mix on a plant at least one week old, despite what shop owners say...

I think the "edge discouloring" are the curling leaves,in the pics is very easy to get the wrong idea.

BigNugget- first thanks on the explanation im a Scrog ;)
The info ive got from the water company, says the hardness of my water is between 40 and 170 mg/l wich is the same in ppm.
They say the mean is around 80 mg/l, so it shouldnt be too hard.
the ph i stated before is normally around. 7.5 but can reaches values of 8,2 (according to water company) as im not feeding or adding anything yet, just leaving the water in the grow room for 2 days, i believe this should be the run off value.
i didn't quite understand the meaning of havoc??

i do agree with u this can be some problem related with ph, and ill try to get some ph stripes as soon as possible(u think their reliable?)

Still have some doubts concerning if i can use home products for lowering ph?
lemon juice? vinager?

I just used lemon juice for the first time as pH down, only a couple drops in some distilled water which was over 7 and plus I have limestone (couldn't find dolomite) mixed in my soil so I try to get my water around 6-6.5 I'll let you know if anything bad happens using the lemon juice.

hey master ive been reading stiches awesome thread more carefully and lemon juice seems safe for lowering ph water for soil use.

i cannot use it yet until i get, those stripes as i have no clue about quantities, so ill play it safe.to adjust the ph.

anyway i would be thankful if u give me your feedback ;)

I don't know about lemon juice but I used to use vinegar. Then I discovered it's effectiveness was best measured in hours. Since switching to phosphoric acid (AN pH Down) my pH holds pretty steady, climbing by 0.2 - 0.3 per week.

Thank god peeps are starting to realize how ineffective vinegar and lemon juice is for pH adjusters, it don't work as long as other pH adjusters and if you want pH adjusters to the full effect, you need to buy them.

i bought some ph stripes, and confirmed my water is rather alkaline, between 8 and 8.5
so i got a ph buffer, and changed it gradually to levels, of 6.5(checked on the run off) and my plants are looking really good now.

thanks on the help guys
