Curing...buds are really dry.

I normally post on Cannabis.com but for some reason their server is down or they are gone, but heres my problem:

I hung dried my buds for about a week till I heard the SNAP, and put them in the curing jars. When I harvested I dried some in the microwave on super low and the buds were dry enough to smoke and the bud had real good flavor and lasted abit. Now the buds still tates good but are extremely dry and I have tried to put in a fresh leaf to re-hydrate somewhat but then the buds are not tastey at all and it seems to burn alittle slower. What else can I do people. I need some help.

Put a slice of apple in the jar...it will rehydrate ur buds, then u can cure them properly...And DON'T put ur buds in the microwave, it vaporizes the resin!!!

My drunken thoughts are this:
I need to know how much to hydrate them so they keep taste and burn slower.
Meaning how much moister per 7 grams lets say.
I was taught to use a fresh leaf(s).
Anyone else have any input?

If they are too dry, then you probably were giving them too much air when curing. You only need ot open the lids on the jars for about 20 minutes a day when curing. You can use anything hydrated like said above, to bring the moisture back into the buds. Also make sure you start curing as soon as the stems cleanly break when bent. I've noticed if you wait a few days longer, the buds can become VERY dry when in curing.

just run you hand under the tap and then flick some water into the ziplock bag, close it let it sit for an hour, then check it, if its still too dry do it again.

or not.

wow.

someone already offered a good rehydration method (using fruit slices) to transfer moisture back into the bud material. can't imagine why you'd offer up the wrong way to do it?

I've had good success with putting one medium sized fan leave into the wide mouth jar with the stash...

Overnight I could tell the difference.

people people. lettuce is the number thing I have found to work. organe peels do nothing...apples are to "wet"......never tried the fan leaf......

but I do know lettuce has a waxy coating and if put in a mason jar or other ait tight jar, with somthing dry say, a dry sponge, or your dry buds, it will release moisture from inside itself but not alow moisture back into itself cause of its waxy coating......for seven grams I'd say a quarter sized piece of fresh lettuce....not the flimsy part....the meaty part..........Peace!

All these things work, its just based on whats available/preference. I personally like orange slices. Be sure that the orange is not touching ANY of the bud because it may mold. And dont leave the orange slice in too long. Be sure to check every couple of hours. The orange also will add some smell and maybe taste to the buds.
And whoever said to try bread is wrong. Bread has no moisture in it so it will pull out whatever remaining moisture is still in the buds. And dont put water on your buds unless you plan on water curing.

dont let your bud dry so long next grow. hang em 3 days, puttem in a mason jar 1 day, spread em on a cookie sheet for 1 day. try a few buds if they are too wet spread em out on a cookie sheet again. it amazes me that people take soooo much time to grow butdont cure the pruduct. slow dry is the best.

If the humidity in the room where yuou dry your plants falls below 50% RH,I would use a cool mist humdifier in the room.

Wow, alot of responses now. Well I think I will try 2 of the methods proposed to me. The orange Slice in a half ounce jar, and lettuce in a half ounce jar and see which works better. I have rehydrated a test bud and I used a leaf from a rose and put in the jar away from the bud for a few hours but then the weed lost its tates. I dont have any fan leaves any more since I have to rebuild my grow box to be "sealed" that way my whole apartment building wont smell like kind buds for 2 days. Alright people thanks again.
