Cupboard for veg, clones and small mothers.

So I'm trying to make a 3 shelf cupboard to; keep new cuttings in propagators, keep potted cuttings vegging to flower and keep small mothers to take cuttings from. I'm having some trouble with fans for intake and outake. basically I need something fairly quiet, but wont die on me. i was thinking computer fans... because I am only using 3 x T5 2 bar florescent lights which don't create that much heat, and computer fans are compact and don't take up any room, it seems a really good idea. but I fitted my first outake fan and it worked very well but was really noisy. I fitted a second fan (which was originally my intake fan) it was a lower wattage and but still seemed to work ok and wasn't as loud, and that lasted a night then died. Anyway here's some pictures so you can see what I'm going on about:

the fans I had before were 240v, so now I'm thinking maybe get some 12v fans and a convertor. because there is a larger range of silent 12v fans. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Nice work LLP.

My clonre rooms expand a few 60x60x140 tents either on the upright or on the side.

I find I can keep mothers perfect in 1.6 litre pots in coco. Fed when they need it by hand.

I also have clones I do in these tents on their side. Upto 8 props per tent. Only pre-veg requires a larger than 120mm gap from the lamp.

I use PL lamps with dual 55 w tubes, not LED's currently. I need to test the 'slide' or 'epigenetics' with this light source. I have kept origional plants always, untill they show 'true to type' in the new generation.

I link 3 of these size tents up to a 4" RVK with a Tri-branch. Same as I do with multiple flower setup but a much bigger fan..

One filter one fan that can do 3 tents and and a few T pieces or solid sections of ventilation to link it to keep it quiet and perfectly safe...

I've never exhgausted to the exteriour from my grows. That's fcuking 'hot'. I just manage the temps and RH.

I need no inlet because I over do the out always.. The in-let isn't necessary as long as their is the Co2 for optimum growth..

997 ppm's is fine..

so I've already scrapped my 240v plan, and I've switched one of the fans over to a 12v.

New 12v fan.

Twin fan speed controller.

Plug for second fan.

Plug 240v/12v adapter.

I planning on getting a higher powered fan for my outlet, and I'll swap the one I'm using at the mo to the intake. at the moment the intake is passive, but I want to get a fan on it as soon as poss.

Very nice work. I flower in a 5 x 5 and right next to it is my mum and baby tent. Its a 2x4x4 with a 200w 4 light t5 fixture. I just have two port holes open as passive intake and one of the passive intakes for my big tent is actually connected to the small one as its exhaust. So my 6" fan exhausts the whole set up.

I sleep well with a 4" RVK. How are you lighting this tier section veg area? You say a 3x T5 2bar. Just 1?

How's that effect the bottom prop or plants? I know this is probably the first test mate.. I've tried tiers before..

Lepto can run 2 areas in a 1x2m. That's nearly 2000g per m2 in flower.

In my rooms/tents the corners hold the bushy mums. The shit ones are in doubles.. They ain't shit but less productive at plant material.. That don't mean per say that don't root well but are hard to get to "veg out".

How you rocking that when you do? Plants @ top and cuts under?

It looks stealth bro. I'd be keeping watches or aftershave in something like that but that's me..

VG also has a bad ass cupboard.. I wanna see if you can produce in it.. Then I'm sold on the idea...

So this cupboards just for cuttings veg and mothers. Mothers on the bottom, cuttings in the middle, veg at the top. Then the 1.2m x 1.2m tent for flowering 1-2 week vegged cuts. 9 cut's every two weeks, then going perpetually from there replacing plants as they get harvested. So the veg/cutting cupboard is lit by a T5 per shelf and there are 3 shelves. I understand heat maybe a problem, but I think the fans should keep the temperature down as they're only the smallest T5's. Once I've got the fans running how I want them, I'll get all the T5's running and check the temperatures.

The temps were not my concern mate your a skilled pro.. I seen one lamp in the pic thats all. I now see 2..

With 3 luminaries that's gonna be fast, I'd 1/2 fill the flower room and keep filling it with 1.6 litre coco pots of prevegged cuts from week 6.

I feel one lamp may do the job if your full @ the inn but I know you. You can enterprise, were you to shuffel about the levels daily 1 lamp may work well.

It's long but in-search for perfection I'd do it.. for a while.

Sounds intensive and perhaps I need a lesson or two mate on cutting back... I've never been one to manage veg rooms well, so long as they run and supply my needs.. I'm happy. I like bushes.. I feel better with them.


Also if you breed with OG genetice you need some f-ing space.. These PK x OGKA snips need a tent to them selves they so lanky.. Potency is unriaveld somewhat, better, stronger and tastier then either parent..

So, I've been on it today. I've got a new 3 fan speed controller, and 3 new fans. the middle shelf now as an exhaust fan as well as the top shelf. it's all looking pretty ready now, except i need an extension for one of the cables. here's how it's looking:

I just picked the 3 fan speed controller up from maplins, and I got 3 new performance fans.

I'm picking up a 4 bar t5 for the bottom shelf tomorrow. Was going with the 2 bar, but I think it will be easier to keep more mothers under a 4 bar.
Cuttings wise I think I can have 120 cuts rooting.
Veg light, probably not going to need more than 12 under that at one time. Mother light, looking to handle 24-30 mini mums. That maybe optimistic on the mums front, but I'm gonna give it a go, see what the light penetration is like...

I may have to step it up and get a 4 bar t5 on the second shelf too if I want to dig through seeds finding keepers, cos I'll need somewhere to keep clones of seed plants while I flower them to see if they're worth keeping.
