Grew some true Acalpulco Gold (70's strain a buddy's dad has been growing for years in SoCal), from beans I'd been given. The old "vato" said he used to smoke it with Tommy Chong when Chong owned the strip club on Atlantic Blvd., in East Los Angeles.
One of the mothers had an extreamley tasty and strong buzz that can only come from this legendary, near pure Sativa strain. This plant was huge and exploded when topped (due to running out of space under the lights) Colas the size of a coke can. But took forever to ripen (12 weeks).
Took one of the clones from this plant and fertilized it with a male from a batch of White Rhino I popped. Hoping to get a quicker finishing, huge producing, extreamely stony bud as a result from this F1 hybrid. Wonder if the flowers will be white or gold?
Have the new beans in hand.... White Gold?, Platinum? Other name suggestions?
Should have the new buds near Christmas if my wish comes true.

Arrgh... White Gold and Platinum both been done. OK, how about "La Llorona" ? Pronounced La Yorona, for the legendary screaming lady of the night, cursed to wander the earth after death to find the childred she drowned. Wicked or what?

the deep chunks i started gave me 4/5 females, with the runt of the litter being the male. he pales in comparison to the stature and structure of even his smallest female counterpart. the only good thing is it gives me a nice amount of females to choose from such a small number popped.
on the smcg side, i only had 2 to choose from and was hoping for males. instead, the tall lanky one is showing female after 2 weeks flower. the one still in veg, short, bushy, self topping has also shown a female pre-flower or 2.
at the very least, i can evaluate a couple females from both sides, choose the best one for 1/2 of the cross, then pop more beans from other half searching for a father. more than likely, this will be from the smcg side as the genius x deep chunk gave me 4/4 females as well, one week into bloom. again, decent amount of females to evaluate.
in fact, the only things that gave me males this run were c-99, 1/2 with the male being pole-like and less vigorous and a splendid female, branchy as hell, super vigorous, rotten fruity skunky smell, sativa structure. i took 4 clones from her that rooted in pure coco in 7 days, may have been 5 or 6 days but i couldn't see initial root growth. i counted days from start to the time i can actually see 3 or 4 roots in 16 oz party cups.
deep purple gave 2/3 females but i dont want to cross anything with this one. lui went 4/4 females, hoping for a nice female from this one. only got one blue moonshine female up and going, but she is nicely structured and not too finicky.
i will update progress, hopefully get another cam so i can start documenting this stuff, and finally get some darn freebies/server fund beans out and get my "icmag donor" tag.
i could use the runt deep chunk male, but i dont want my name attached to sub-par chucking. i'm already chucking, but i want it to be the best darn chuck i can muster. an all sativa collab between the c-99 and the smcg is tempting me as well

thanks KBK. the female ratio was a huge surprise. i had been having some bad luck with germination lately and have had to re-evaluate my technique/water/temps so the abundance of females was well needed, but totally unexpected. 18 in total has the room packed beyond capacity! 4 DC, 2 SMCG, 4 LUI's, 2 Deep P, 1 C99, 1 Blue M, and 4 Genius X DC.
that f13 X Highland Nepelase sounds like a delish cross.
