is the main purpose of cropping is the pinch top 1" stem from top hoping for more side growth? would this take the place of LST or do u still LST w/ crop?...i can't still figure if i will LST or scrog, and if i should crop. 3 weeks in veg...just transplanted friday to 2g pots.

If you just transplanted on friday, give them more than two days to recover before you train, unless they are growing into your light already.

Looking at your plants, I think you would benefit more from LST because I see very little side branching. Just lay those girls on their side and you'll have the bush you are after.

And, yes, you seem to have the idea of cropping down. I only discourage it here because I don't see any side branches that could potentially "catch up" to the canopy. It looks like you have single cola plants as of right now.

That's my humble opinion. Hope it helps. Take it easy.

- no worries

you can gently crush the inner herd of the stem i like more then 1 inch down from top i like approx where soft wood meets hard or tad above that point. i take stem between thumb and forefinger and gently squeez the stem untill i hear it crush you'll hear the noise. this will form a knot where the stem was crushed it will slow down upward growth a day or 2 it also seems to make the nugs more dense and heavy. you could still LST the plants be sure to secure the bottom of plat 1-2 inch off soil surface to 1 side of container before you pull plant over. i'll secure the plant bottom on 1 side and then pull top downwards untill i feel resistance like it may break. i back off a tad and secure the branch next day i'll drop the branch lower same untill i feel resistance then back off tad. after few days of this you'll have your plant @ desired angle at local nurserys and walmarts they carry a 100ft roll of twisty tie for training plants cheap i use this to secure branchs. if you wanting to slow upward grwoth try

hers good LST tut

here FIM

if you mess up FIM no worries ya just topped plant but i find FIM hard to mess up. i grab the new upper growth node when it's unfolding make sure all is in fingers slide fingers up tad and cut stright across. works like a charm for me 1 time i multi FIM'd a plant pulled almost 2oz from 1 gal bag i normally average 1oz from same strain.
