Whats up fellas. long time lurker since OG. finally getting back into the swing of things. today I picked up a black and decker box with these dimensions 34' wide, 17'D, 71'H and I was wondering if I kept it aircooled could I fit a Digital electronic 600 Watt hps in there and still keep it cool?

600w is a little over kill for that cab imo.(+/-120wpsf) i would go with a 400, you still get 80wpf which is more than sufficient and easier to cool.

u could but u would need an aircooled hood and AC as that is well over 100wpsf. really i think that would be a waste unless you were running CO2, and not some bio bucket or yeas i mean a tank or generator. even then you are going to have an assload of light. it can be done but there is some logistics your gunna have to work out. i think its always best, when designing a grow to first consider how much you want to yeild. so how much do you want to yeild?? dont go crazy either lol is this a personal grow? consider your consumption needs then go from there. we would all like to harvest 10 lbs for ourselves every 2 months but that not realistic.

i have grown in the past (cfl's tho) as this will be my first hps grow. I was hoping for at least 4-6 ounces a harvest.

if you run a 400 watt you can get way way way more than that. if that is your goal then dont run a 600 watt it will just cause u a bunch of problems. with a 400 watt you can potentially pull 14 ounces or more. even a cool lb if you really get everything working smooth on the right strain but that would be tuff. probably a SCROG would work and you would most likly exceed your goals.
