criss cross / zig zag lighting

according to the old Cervantes article "Yeild of Dreams", the minimum number of lights to run a 6hr/6hr zig zag pattern for a flowering room is 4, but I've never seen it done with only 4 lights. has anyone done so? I was planning on running 4 1ks in a square config and zig zagging them on a flip flop box for, 2 on 6 hours at a time:

first 6 hrs:

O X

X O

next 6 hrs:

X O

O X

Hi FC
Never did it ,But i think you would have better results if you can flip them every
2/3hr's. This would help with keeping any extra stretching from happening.

i made a thread about this not to long. its krazy cause im mapping out my flip as i type and looking for the type of relay i want. i will be using a solid state relay to void arching and having to shut down the ballast between flips.

ideally id like to just run a standard flip between two rooms but i can only use one room and the logistics of it don't make it too easy to setup a 2 room flip inside of one room. thanks for the link will read through it

The zig-zag lighting has been around for over 10 years. Larger greenhouses will do this zig-zag pattern with a Flip to run a vegetative cycle, 18/6, 20/4, 24/0. During the veg cycle, only half the lights are on and they switch with a light directly beside it every hour, or 2 hours. It's all programmable. If you have a 4 ballast flip, just switch a couple lampcords. I've built a lot of Flips for this application.

Best Regards
