Well being that you all have been so freaking helpful getting me into going hydro, (Hideyourbud and Xtra Drl and everyone in chat just to name a few ) i figured you all should see what im up to. right now in the system i have 3 very healthy cripplecreekxsputnik clones donated from a very nice guy i know.

the system is 18 gal rubbermaid with standard dwc plumbing, wallymart airpump and dual 12 in airstones, but added to the system, 1 200gph water pump with irrigation splitter that splits the flow of water into 6 tubes that all run right to the top of the rockwool abover the hydroton rock, this constant drip system delivers constant oxygen rich nutes to all of the roots.

i feel this system has an advantage over straight dwc because of the inhances oxygen and nute delivery, im going to use this set up to veg only and help to get cuttings and clones a jumpstart b4 the roots actually hit the water. for flower i will use the same size tub with dwc setup as the roots will be more than big enough to support the plant.

for vegg im using 2x4ft flouro grow tubes and a 500w (65w actual use) flourex bulb. and for flower i have an inside sun 600w hortilux.

nutes pure blend pro vegg bloom liquid karma calmag, mostly just using the main nutes and just a touch of the other 2 for good measure. using well water straight from the tap at a wonderful 6.4 ph. after adding nutes it seems to drop just slightly to about 6.2 or so maybe a bit lower. lowest measured so far is 5.5 and everyone is doing well.

i have ph test strips but no ppm meter so im going to just wing it and play things by ear as far as nutes go. its been a little hot here lately so to keep the res temps down i have been freezing gallons of water to add to the res during the day. and every other day or so a capfull or 2 of h2o2. thats about it.. suggestions comments, random thoughts, worldy advise, jokes, sayings, and witty banter are always welcome.

the rate of growth in hydro is amazing, you have some great looking plants, i definitely want to try hydro sometime...maybe in the winter when temps are down

update is coming i got the new hydrohut 2x4 and its going to fit everything better than i could have possibly planned.. im very excited. i drew out the plans for the setup im looking at i think its going to work out very well. and ill be all clean and organized.. and ill be much happier. as soon as i get the scrubber and fans all hooked up ill take some pics for you guys... i have put 2 of the cripple creek into flower and i have to say they have gotten huge.. if im going to do 6 plants in this tub i have to keep them smaller.. 2 is crowded and 3 is going to be tight. but for not im going to keep the 3rd one in vegg and take some clones. gonna toss some armed widow clones in the vegg tub tonight ass well. pics to come!!!! pretty self explainatory

how are you planning on making separate chambers inside the hydrohut? or does it come with materials to modify it that way?

im thinking a role of double sided weather tape and a nice big sheet of white plastic of some sort.. then for where it meets the door a nice long strip of velcro.. if anyone has any better ideas.. i would absolutly love to hear them. im not going to divide it just yet, i still have 3 plants in 5 gal buckets that need to finish up b4 i go completly hydro. so i have a month or so to figure it out.

its a replica of that system.. i just built it myself for less than half the cost. did a little work on it yesterday, drilled out the irrigation splitter, it had very little flow to it.. so i took it apart and drilled the spouts a little larger and took out the back ends that were restrcting flow... now it works like a charm. also in the flowering chamber hydro dwc i contracted some sort of grey slimy shit.. and the plants are suffering horribly for it. all the new growth is yellow and aneemic looking, i can assume its cause there was light getting into the res and there not being enough hydroguard in it. i did a full res change yesterday, and it actually seems to have gotton worse when i looked at it this morning. im hoping they will recover when i get back to them tonight... if not no big deal i took like 10 clones a few days ago so i should have something ill be able to put back in there eventually. ill try and snap some pics tonight, for my first hydro experice vegg is going very well.. the flowering part.. not so much. i think it was cause i only had plastic cups filling the holes that didnt have plants in them.. which was letting light in. i have since replaced them with ductd taped cds that let no light in. the roots still look very good though nice and white.. so only time will tell.

well heres a little shitty update since the pics of the flower room are embarrassing right now.. well except the 3 armed widow that are in dirt right now doing very well.. the hydro not so much.. i think i got rid of the muck in the res and things are starting to come back to normal. time will tell.. but meanwhile..

well finally i got off my lazy ass and took some pics...

armed widow week 4 soil, doing very well. one seems to have gotten to close to the light and all of them had soil ph problems from me neglecting to add lime to the soil mix.. caught it very early though and everyone is doing well, now i ph test every time i water just to make sure.



this one is the first failed hydro attempt. it got some kind of wierd algea in the res and i was unable to stop it b4 the damage was done. gotta clean everything up and start over ass soon as the clones start to show roots .. if they make it.




thats it for now i guess.. not much to look at.. been kinda lazy in setting up the exhaust system but im gonna try and get to that this weekend and get some pics up..

little update.. this is the revegg project. by act of god of 6 clones and 2 mothers she is the only one left, and to save the strain we had to pull her inside and put her back into vegg. hopefully she pulls through and we can get some nice new growth out of her. KCx brazil.

family vegg pic the big one is the ccxsputnik ive been trying to take clones off of but it never seems to root, im gonna try some more tonight, ive tried roockwood rapid rooters soil and bubble cloning.. they have to work out some how. the 2 in the back are the armed widow cuts i got from a friend, doing much better now that they have more light. and the little one is another pheno of the armed widow i took from one of the flowering ones from the pics above.. looks and smells wonderful so i figured i woudl save that pheno as well.

over the weekend i built a new light setup ill get you guys pics of... it consists of 3 flourex flood lights set up in light bar fashion, 2 85w 1 65 watt bulbs, the 65 is supposed to be eq to a 500w light and the 85s i would suspect a little more than that.. i have been using these type of lights for vegg for like a year now and plants seem to really like them. after i put the new set up in i saw a big change in 24 hours over using the 2 tube flouros and only one of the floods. more light better light = more happy!!!
i also added one more 10in airstone to the res so i think the little added oxygen is helping them as well.

well one of the armed widows on the left is on his last leg.. i trimmed off the dead stuff in favor of one limb that was still healthy. i hope shit makes it.. the armed widow in the middle is doing much better as is the cripple creek mother, i got some shultz plant food over the weekend as a suppliment until my nutes arrive this week. it seems to have helped them alot. that and a generous dose of h2o2, i think cuase its been so warm the res temps were high and it started to get fungus. it seems to be clearing up now and going back to normal.. i also raised the lights up a few inches in hopes of getting them to stretch a little more so i can get some decent clones in the next week or 2. i have really fallen behind and am down to almost nothing plant wise.. its starting to worry me. i like hydro but it can be finiky sometimes and ive been having major probs with dirt plants too.. i will never make my own soil ever again. hopefully everything will work out in the next 2 weeks or so and i can get some clones going for give aways and for myself to keep going.. ideally i would like to have 3 armed widow and 3 cripple creek in vegg and 3 of each in flower. time will tell i guess.

i know its only been 2 days but i spent a little while cleaning and changing the res and containers and all that good stuff, and spraying for thrips, little tiny insects that live under the leaves. the guy that sent me the cuts informed me that he had them and may have sent them to me unintentionally, so i should spray everything down. i took each plant out and sprayed them really good till they were soaked under and over, and no signs of thrips now so i will have to keep an eye on things. i still have to finish cleaning out the drip system and put that back in so for a while they will be DWC only. they all have a good root system so this shouldnt be a problem anyways. finally got my pure blend nutes in the mail too. with this res change im going to use only the pure blend pro grow, and thats it. i was using a bunch of other products together b4 like the cal-mag and the liquid karma, and it seemed to not really do much. simple is better.
