Guess you need to think long and hard if the financial benefits will outweigh the pain you will feel having to deal with your father in this way. Only you can answer that, it may for you.

No matter how bad you feel toward him, it's still going to hurt.

I wish you all the best.

Easier said than done.

Not only am I burdened with the emotional baggage, I find I have a huge f*cking bill to pay that I didn't take out. It could have ruined my credit forever.

What kind of fucknut puts his kids into debt like that???

Get a good lawyer and sue the fucker...make him work for you for the rest of his life, the greasy scumbag.

yeah i did a search and you could weed through it for hours. Just call an attorney and ask. They'll know if it's past time and worth pursueing

so you're pretty much sayin he's loaded now and u have a bill? have u tried discussing it with him and just telling him how it is? if you can work it out without a lawyer everybody would seriously end up happier, unless u just want some revenge

Google the consolodated laws for texas, and then go to penal law and look up the charges. How long a period of time has it been since you found out what he had done? And was his name on the Insurance also? A lot of policies are started when children are young and the parents have the right to do with them as they please because they are the beneficiarry until you reach a certain age.

^lotsa good advice. JJJ and genkisan... you gotta put up some road blocks and make sure this guy doesn't come back at you again. If he's forging a signature he could go all out and start racking up credit in your name

its tough but you have rights too

Yea man stick it to him .. father or not sound like he needs to learn a lesson and you shouldn't be burdened by your fathers lack of responsibility. Though if he declared bankruptcy it might be hard actually getting the money. If he is self employed it could be fairly impossible.

You can probably hold out on the debt and settle it for 50 cents on a dollar or less. It will hurt your credit rating a for being late on payments, but you can save a lot of money and not declare bankruptcy or cause any major credit damage.

If it's forged perhaps you can make the insurance company pay for the mistake... I don't know with a decent lawyer it's a possibility. Many lawyers give free consultations, so don't be afraid to use that to get some free info.
