Good point. You can find about 250 old threads which cover the same subject though. I remember this being a hot topic of debate on CW and OG, 16 years ago. 
I don't believe Mel Frank ever used GH nutes, if I recall correctly he worked to find out what cannabis needed. I don't remember who originally discovered the 1:1 mix of GH Micro:Bloom came really close to Mel Frank's numbers, but it was Lucas who spent years bucking the NASTY responses from the community while continuing to teach the process.
The "Lucas Formula" is really a combination of using the 1:1 GH ratio AND specific reservoir management methods. Without the proper reservoir management methods, the 1:1 ratio has significant issues.
I've been using this method for over 15 years now and love it.
